Transcript
00:00The cast and director of the Bollywood film Raja Natwarlal are in town to promote the
00:18movie.
00:19Bollywood star Imran Hashmi and Pakistani actress Humayma Malik, together with film
00:23director Kunal Deshmukh, face the media to answer questions about the crime comedy film.
00:29Described by the cast as a romantic comedy, Raja Natwarlal features Hashmi playing a small-time
00:34conman looking for his big break until his friend gets murdered.
00:38He searches for vengeance, then sees him lock horns with a big-time gangster, leading him
00:43to plan the biggest scam of his life.
00:46The comedy will also see the Bollywood debut of Malik, best known for her role in the acclaimed
00:502011 Urdu film Bul.
00:52The tabloid talked to the stars about their roles and their experiences filming the movie.
01:22Were you hesitant when it comes to the skin show, as you say, on how it will be accepted
01:36in your country?
01:37I didn't show that much of skin.
01:39It's not something that these other actresses doesn't do on Bollywood.
01:45I think it was very normal, but the culture and the country that I belong from, it wasn't
01:51that easy for me.
01:53But as an actor, I think that I should do different stuff and experience everything
01:58because I want to grow in my career and I want to experience different sort of cinemas,
02:04why not?
02:05So I think it was quite exciting, yeah.
02:08When I came to him with my first script, I'm glad that he showed faith in me and we made
02:15Jannat together.
02:16We followed that up with Tummele and then when we did Jannat 2, it was obviously us
02:22coming back together as a hit director-actor combination.
02:26With this film, it was I think more me wanting to work with him because it was my first film
02:31outside the Bhatkamp and somewhere I wanted to work with an actor that I know, that I
02:39understand, who knows my weaknesses, who understands how I work and we can together make a great
02:45film.
02:46I think this has been a film where we really both have worked equally hard, we've worked
02:53hand in hand.
02:55I think this is a film where Imran has even watched the film at the edit and he has helped
03:00me with trimming certain portions and that's the kind of support that I was looking for
03:05and you don't just create this rapport overnight, it happens over not one or two years, but
03:14maybe five or eight years and when you have such a great rapport, I don't see why I should
03:19let that go.
03:20Rajan at Warlal is also Deshmukh's first film outside of the Bhatkamp.
03:25All his previous films have been produced by Vicious Films, co-owned by director Mahesh
03:29Bhatt and his brother Mukesh.
03:32Hashmi is their nephew.
03:33Irish Iden Belieza for Tabloid.
