00:06As the new year begins, Manila Water is expected to add more cash to its customers.

00:14According to the company, cash is a part of the Bait Rebasing of 2022.

00:19It has not yet been stated how much cash will be added.

00:22Manila Water is currently monitoring the movement of pesos against dollars.

00:26But if the so-called foreign currency differential adjustment, or FEDA, will have an effect,

00:33if the peso and the currency that we have in debt goes up,

00:41if it goes down, it means that the peso will also go up.

00:44The addition of cash to water is also a challenge for consumers who are now buying inflation

00:49or raising the price of services and buying in the country.

00:53According to the Philippine Citizens Authority, from 2.3 percent in October,

00:57the overall inflation rate in the country rose to 2.5 percent in November.

01:02Because of that, the national average inflation rate is 3.2 percent from January to November.

01:08The PSA said that three groups of buyers and services contributed to the increase of inflation in November.

01:15The first group is food and drinks.

01:18Because of the high prices, many people are saving.

01:20That's why the government's 40 pesos per kilo of rice in the Rice for All program

01:24was sold out on the first day of the rollout to some families.

01:34That's good news for consumers, but the income of some retailers is affected.
