00:11Jupiter, the largest planet in our solar system.
00:15Jupiter will shine brighter than any other time this year on December 7th when the gas
00:20giant reaches opposition.
00:22Because Jupiter will be located in the exact opposite part of the sky from the sun, the
00:27planet will be visible all night long.
00:30A telescope is not required to watch Jupiter, but if you have one, you'll be able to see
00:35the gas giant's colorful clouds, its great red spot, and its four largest moons, Io,
00:41Europa, Ganymede, and Callisto.
00:44The next Jupiter opposition will not occur until 2026, so catch a great view of Jupiter
00:50while it remains bright this month.
