No topic is off conversation, and Maddie has always been keen to show the realities of being a teen mom, most notably her relationship with ex boyfriend and Everly’s father, Isaac. The pair have had their ups and downs and have rarely been completely honest with how they acted to each other… Until today. 00:00I got pregnant at 13.
00:02I was like 15, turning 16.
00:06People would say,
00:07you're ruining your life.
00:08Somebody even messaged me saying,
00:10I hope you guys f***ing labor.
00:12I took that and I shifted it.
00:16I said, this is making my life.
00:18I felt scared.
00:21I was really scared.
00:22What I wanted before anything,
00:24let's just get a paternity test
00:25before any actions were stepped forward.
00:28I thought to myself,
00:29he's going to take her away from me.
00:32I need to take the nose.
00:34Okay, let me help you.
00:35We're going to have to take it off in a minute.
00:36You know that, right?
00:38There you go.
00:40This is Everly.
00:41She is three years old.
00:43She's my little girl and we're super close.
00:46Let me spray some of this.
00:48Make your hair a little bit softer.
00:50She is so mature and so sassy.
00:53I don't always look down on teen moms
00:55if I'm being completely honest.
00:57I think that was just from a lack of knowing
00:59what it's really like.
01:00When I actually got pregnant,
01:02I was so scared for the reactions
01:03people were going to get.
01:04I did get a lot of negative reactions,
01:06a lot of hate.
01:07Can you try to wipe it off?
01:08Everybody had something to say
01:10and they didn't hold back.
01:11I had people send me the address
01:13to abortion clinics
01:14when I was about seven months pregnant.
01:16In gym class, they would put balls in their t-shirts
01:18and be like, hi, I'm Maddie.
01:19I'm a teen mom.
01:20Somebody even messaged me saying,
01:22I hope you guys f***ing labor.
01:24I took that and I shifted it.
01:27I said, this is making my life.
01:30The hate made me want to do better.
01:33It made me want to show them
01:35that I'm going to be the best mom ever.
01:36Even though I'm young,
01:37I'm going to be the best mom they've ever seen.
01:39All right, let's put this up.
01:41Do you want to go pick out an outfit?
01:42Hey, for Everlees, it's Maddie and Everlee.
01:45When Everlee was about four months old,
01:48I decided on a whim,
01:51okay, we look cute today.
01:52You know what?
01:53I'm going to go film a YouTube video.
01:54Today, I'm going to be talking about
01:57how I found out I was pregnant.
01:59My first video I ever posted
02:01ended up going viral.
02:02I just didn't know what was going to happen, you know,
02:04because I was pregnant at 14.
02:10Today, I am going to be filming a video
02:12for my YouTube channel
02:13with Everlee's dad, Isaac, my ex-boyfriend.
02:16I'm quite nervous
02:17and I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes.
02:19We're going to discuss co-parenting
02:21and how we've kind of made it work
02:23through the good, the bad, and the ugly.
02:28Everlee.
02:29Yeah.
02:30Come here.
02:31Give me a big hug.
02:36How are you?
02:37This is beautiful.
02:39Oh, is that your toy car?
02:40When Maddie first found out that she was pregnant,
02:43I was like 15, turning 16.
02:47I missed you.
02:49I thought it was all just a joke,
02:51like it wasn't real.
02:52Let's go upstairs.
02:53And then when she showed me the scan...
02:57I went to get a sonogram
02:58and I sent him this picture.
03:00I felt scared.
03:04I was really scared.
03:05So before we do this little co-parenting video,
03:09I know we've talked about before,
03:10like probably a couple years ago on my channel,
03:13how one of your regrets
03:14was not meeting Everlee earlier.
03:16And I never really got that explanation
03:20to what was going on during my pregnancy
03:23and after she was born.
03:25Did you move to Canada?
03:27No.
03:28What happened?
03:29Were you still in Texas?
03:30No, I was still in Texas,
03:31but when you told me, I was just shocked.
03:36I was like, wow.
03:39So I talked to my mom, obviously, about it.
03:42I told her that what I wanted before anything,
03:45before I got into Everlee's life,
03:47let's just get a paternity test
03:48before any actions were stepped forward.
03:52Basically, I wasn't there for the 10 months, right?
03:55So Maddie had the most hate for me,
03:57which was correct.
03:58And I messed up right there, and I did.
04:00This whole time, all I have said is
04:04I know who Everlee's dad is.
04:05He's the only person I've ever been with,
04:07which remains true.
04:08But he wanted to get proof.
04:10They said, okay, so for the paternity results,
04:12hand them them forward.
04:14He is the father.
04:15I've been telling y'all this literally
04:17for freaking almost a year.
04:20I just couldn't accept the fact that it happened,
04:23but it happened.
04:25Oh, I was so mad at you.
04:27Like, I literally...
04:29Oh, my gosh.
04:30It did get pretty bad, and I was really upset.
04:33I would post things on my social media
04:35and be like, he's a piece of crap
04:37and, like, say all these things.
04:39I thought to myself,
04:40he's going to take her away from me.
04:42I was hurting.
04:43Me and him had left off on bad terms,
04:46and I kind of turned that pain into anger,
04:49which I really do regret.
04:50I feel like I should have pushed harder
04:53and been nicer.
04:54I should have realized that, like,
04:56parenting is a two-way road.
04:58But at that time, for me,
04:59I was just kind of, like,
05:00I was still resenting everything that happened.
05:03I was really selfish with Everlee.
05:05Today is a special vlog
05:07because Everlee will be meeting her dad
05:09for the first time in her life.
05:12Everlee, you're going to meet your dad.
05:14How do you feel about that?
05:17What do you think about that?
05:19I feel like it would just be a lot better
05:21if I would have, like,
05:25came out, like,
05:26hey, like, this is my daughter.
05:28This beautiful angel.
05:29Like, yeah, like, it would have been different,
05:31but I was gone for that 10 months,
05:33and I can't do anything about it now.
05:36I'm just going to be there for her.
05:37You kind of get that mentality
05:40where it's the villain and the hero,
05:42and you make yourself the hero,
05:43and you make the other person the villain,
05:44but it's not like that.
05:45You're just both basically side characters.
05:48Everlee's the hero.
05:49Yeah.
05:50I'm really glad we got to talk about this,
05:51and I think it's really good
05:52to kind of get these things out in the open
05:54before we film our video
05:56telling other people how to co-parent
05:58when we're not professionals ourselves.
05:59Yeah.
06:00All right.
06:02All right.
06:03Are we sitting down now?
06:04Yeah.
06:05Well, hello.
06:06Okay, so we're going to start with something, like,
06:09a bit more simple,
06:10and even though it's super simple,
06:12we've definitely fought over it.
06:13Definitely.
06:14Just, like, the times for visitation,
06:16because when you're co-parenting...
06:17We both want her.
06:18Yeah.
06:19As much as possible.
06:20I think it went really well.
06:22We've never actually discussed this
06:24just on our own terms.
06:26I think it's really good
06:27that we were able to talk about those things civilly,
06:29and it just really shows how far things have come
06:32from where they were before.
06:33Daddy!
06:35Come on.
06:37Let's move.
06:38All right, girl.
06:39Do you have shoes on?
06:40Yeah.
06:41So many people assume I'm a bad mom
06:43just because I'm a teenager,
06:44but I have the same capacity to parent
06:46as anybody on this world.
06:47A good mom is somebody who drops everything
06:50for their child.
06:51I dropped my whole childhood.
06:53Nice!
06:55Be careful by the edge!
06:57I do everything for that little girl.
06:59She is my entire world,
07:00and I feel like she can have such an impact.
07:03Do you know any of those letters?
07:05Yeah.
07:06Which ones?
07:07I think this one is A.
07:10That's the one I just pointed to,
07:11and she said she doesn't know.
07:12Good job, baby.
07:13You're so smart.
07:14If she wants to be the first astronaut on Jupiter,
07:16she's going to do it.
