00:00We know how important public services are to the quality of life and the success of
00:07our nation, and none more so than our health service. My biggest financial commitment today
00:13is therefore to our NHS. Today's budget provides a record £21 billion for health and social
00:22care and an increase of £2 billion for front-line NHS boards—a record uplift. That money will
00:30make it easier for people to access GP appointments, improve A and E and ensure that more Scots
00:37get the care that they need in good time. There is no public service that is more important,
00:44and there is no budget that has delivered a bigger vote of confidence in the NHS than
00:49this budget.
