00:00I believe we're in the midst of a multi-decade secretive arms race,
00:04one funded by misallocated taxpayer dollars and hidden from our elected representatives and oversight bodies.
00:11Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're looking at the most spine-chilling unsolved events to occur in 2024.
00:18And all of a sudden we just heard this big boom,
00:20and not too long after we started hearing police sirens and firetruck sirens kind of blazing through.
00:27The North Volt Saga.
00:28Some of the key features that have brought us here is obviously a very, very strong mission.
00:33A willingness among everybody in the company to make an impact.
00:38You know, be part of this transformation through delivering energy storage and batteries.
00:45The other piece is that sense of urgency.
00:48With climate change becoming an increasingly pressing concern worldwide,
00:52you couldn't blame Sweden for its optimism regarding North Volt.
00:55Founded in 2015 and commissioning its first manufacturing plant in 2021,
01:00the Swedish lithium-ion battery developer was hailed as a sign that, quote,
01:04Sweden was on its way to becoming a battery superpower,
01:07said Jönköping International Business School associate professor Christian Sandström.
01:11The region's main challenge will be skill supply,
01:15to see that we have enough people with the right skills that can take on the jobs
01:21that are created in the factory or in North Volt, but also in the surrounding society.
01:29Tragically, the company was forced to file for bankruptcy
01:32following a series of mysterious deaths that plagued its Skellefteå plant.
01:35Over the first half of 2024, three North Volt employees were inexplicably found dead at home.
01:41Swedish police have opened an investigation into the men's deaths,
01:44with some attributing them to lackluster workplace safety measures.
01:48Coming to Skellefteå always and looking at the site always make me very humble.
01:53You know, the sheer size of the factory, but also the fact that it's a hugely complex manufacturing process.
02:00I always think to myself, how do we really start this thing?
02:05Another creepy monolith.
02:07What a strange sight in Las Vegas.
02:09What is that?
02:10It doesn't have anything to do with the Vegas Raiders, but it doesn't.
02:13It's a mysterious and reflective monolith spotted in a hiking trail over the weekend.
02:18So what's the story?
02:19Well, there's been a bunch of these.
02:20So the police actually, Vegas police posted those pictures.
02:23A volunteer search team went out to it in a remote area.
02:26Aliens? A cheeky art project? Something in between?
02:29That's what visitors to a giant unexplained 2001-esque monolith in Utah wondered in November 2020.
02:36Shortly thereafter, monoliths began popping up globally.
02:39Romania, Spain, Wales, and more.
02:42The monolith marauder struck again in June 2024,
02:45when a shiny new monolith was discovered near Gas Peak in the Desert National Wildlife Refuge that sits north of Las Vegas, Nevada.
02:52These were popping up during COVID, if you remember, all over the world, actually.
02:57One was found on Fremont Street there, that one there.
03:00It's very cool.
03:01Which you would think there'd be cameras all over.
03:03We would see this if it were some sort of art installation, somebody would have been caught.
03:07The six-foot-tall monolith, which was found to be made out of folded sheet metal, was dismantled by local police four days later.
03:14Despite the discoveries of nearly 250 monoliths worldwide as of the end of 2024,
03:20authorities and truth-seekers alike are still no closer to uncovering the mystery of who's behind the installations.
03:26A guy named Craig Muir found the same exact thing in Wales, literally in the middle of nowhere.
03:31How interesting.
03:32Muir is a stonemason by trade, and he said when he examined it, it was surgical steel.
03:36Like the best craftsmanship you could imagine.
03:40So for those conspiracy theorists who think maybe this is aliens, they're very handy.
03:45Stonehenge.
03:46The death of Vladimir Shklarov.
03:48Hello, my name is Vladimir Shklarov.
03:51I was born in Leningrad. Now it's St. Petersburg.
03:55It's a very famous and beautiful city. I like it very much.
03:59Prior to his untimely end on November 16th, 2024,
04:03Shklarov was acclaimed in his native Russia as part of the famed Mariinsky Ballet in St. Petersburg.
04:08This was in addition to having appeared in multiple productions with different companies across Europe in countries like Germany and the United Kingdom.
04:15I studied at the Russian Ballet Academy, and now I am principal dancer in Mariinsky Theater.
04:24Tragically, the beloved ballet dancer died after falling from the balcony of his 5th floor St. Petersburg apartment, aged only 39.
04:31While a Russian federal investigation ruled Shklarov's death accidental,
04:35critics of the Kremlin have suggested that it was retaliation for Shklarov's alleged anti-war stance.
04:40A 2022 Facebook post contained the following quote attributed to Shklarov.
04:45I am against the war in Ukraine. I am for the people, for a peaceful sky above our heads.
04:50My favorite ballet is Swan Lake, and every time when I come on a stage, I try to show my best.
04:57My favorite sport is soccer, and best of all, I like Japanese sushi.
05:07Hong Kong's oldest zoo loses over 10 monkeys.
05:11October 2024 found spookier and sadder stuff going on than just Halloween.
05:16In just 48 hours, the Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens was forced to partially close,
05:22as well as call for the help of experts in the field.
05:25As noted by the Associated Press, quote,
05:27The deceased animals are the de Braz's monkey, a common squirrel monkey,
05:31four white-faced sakhis, and three cotton-top tamarins,
05:34the last of which has been named critically endangered by the International Union for Conservation of Nature.
05:40The zoo concluded that the first 11 monkeys died from coming in contact with contaminated soil,
05:45but could not at the time determine the cause of death for the remaining monkey, who died over that weekend.
05:50How the soil became contaminated in the first place remains unclear.
05:54The Fort Worth Hotel Explosion
05:56We're going to turn now to the breaking news from Texas at this hour,
05:59this explosion at a hotel in downtown Fort Worth.
06:02The windows blown out, debris spread across the streets.
06:05Reports of at least 11 people injured there, and they are searching at this hour,
06:09going from room to room inside that hotel.
06:12Authorities warning people to stay away from the area.
06:14Thankfully, no one lost their lives in this suspected gas explosion
06:18that injured 21 people in downtown Fort Worth, Texas.
06:21On an otherwise ordinary afternoon in January 2024,
06:25the Sandman Hotel at 810 Houston Street had a hole blown all the way through into the street outside.
06:30And all of a sudden we just heard this big boom,
06:32and not too long after we started hearing police sirens and firetruck sirens kind of blazing through.
06:38Two hotel employees were hospitalized, instigating an OSHA investigation.
06:43However, the investigation never took place as planned.
06:46As noted in OSHA's case documentation, the officer assigned to the case,
06:50quote, did not provide any notes, narrative, interviews, photos, or any information for this investigation.
06:56It appears that the case was simply dropped, which begs the question,
07:00what's going on at the Sandman Hotel?
07:02We were getting reports that it would have started in the restaurant.
07:05We do know that there was some construction that was being done down at the restaurant,
07:09but we're not 100% sure that that's where it actually started at this point in time.
07:13The Pentagon UAP reports.
07:15Let me be clear.
07:16UAP are real.
07:18Advanced technologies not made by our government or any other government
07:22are monitoring sensitive military installations around the globe.
07:25Furthermore, the U.S. is in possession of UAP technologies, as are some of our adversaries.
07:30On November 13th, a hearing convened by the United States House Committee on Oversight and Accountability
07:35heard the testimonies of four men who warned of UAPs, or Unidentified Aerial Phenomena.
07:41Timothy Gallaudet, Luis Elizondo, Michael Gold, and Michael Schellenberger
07:45all attested that the U.S. government is perpetuating a wide-scale cover-up of information
07:50and sought greater transparency and disclosure from politicians on both sides of the aisle.
07:54During this exercise, I received an email on Navy Secure Network
07:58from the operations officer of U.S. Fleet Forces Command.
08:01The email was addressed to all the subordinate commanders,
08:04and the subject line read in all capital letters,
08:07URGENT SAFETY OF FLIGHT ISSUE.
08:09The text of the email was brief but alarming, with words to the effect,
08:13If any of you know what these are, tell me ASAP.
08:16The kicker? If what the men testified to seeing is accurate,
08:19then we could be looking at groundbreaking evidence of extraterrestrial life.
08:23One has to wonder, then, how incoming President Donald Trump will tackle the subject upon his 2025 inauguration.
08:30And since my reporting on this immaculate constellation last month,
08:33another source came forward who told me that they saw a roughly 13-minute long,
08:37high-definition, full-color video of a white orb UAP coming out of the ocean
08:42approximately 20 miles off the coast of Kuwait.
08:44The Butler, Pennsylvania, Donald Trump assassination attempt.
08:47That's a little bit old, that chart. That chart's a couple of months old.
08:51Speaking of President-elect Trump, this near-miss by 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks
08:56almost ended his 2024 presidential campaign and his life early.
09:01Crooks, a resident of Bethel Park, Pennsylvania,
09:04drove an hour to nearby Butler in an attempt to end the 45th president's life.
09:08While he was obviously unsuccessful, losing his own life in the process,
09:12the creepiest part is that Crooks' motive remains unclear.
09:16Based on the way he dressed, I mean, you know how kids are nowadays.
09:19If you don't fit in with the clique, they're going to come after you.
09:22And that's kind of like how he was. He would sit by himself, play games on his computer.
09:27Records of Crooks' political beliefs are scant and hard to find,
09:30and even the evidence that does exist is contradictory.
09:33However, experts in criminal behavior have very tentatively suggested
09:37that his actions were a way to carry out his goal of killing only Trump
09:41and that Crooks was not planning a mass shooting.

10:14Chances are, if you're watching this video,
10:16you probably have some idea of the disgraced financier's crimes.
10:19For the uninitiated, Epstein was arrested for a second time in July 2019
10:24on truly heinous trafficking charges.
10:26Just a month later, Epstein was found dead in his cell,
10:29raising ongoing alarm bells and skepticism as to the circumstances.
10:33Much has been made of the late Epstein's relationship with future U.S. President Donald Trump.
10:57Although the president-elect has repeatedly disavowed Epstein,
11:00an October 2024 revelation by ex-model Stacey Williams
11:04has many questioning Trump's statements on the matter.
11:07Specifically, Williams claimed that in addition to being assaulted by Trump in Epstein's presence,
11:12the two were inseparable.
11:14As reported by ABC News,
11:16Flight logs released as evidence showed that Trump was listed as a passenger on Epstein's private jets
11:21at least seven times in the 1990s.
11:23Which mystery creeped you out the most in 2024?
