00:31That easily surpassed 2018, the last record Thanksgiving weekend, by more than $100 million, according to Comscore.
00:40Disney brought the heat and the magic with Moana 2, taking in $221 million all by itself,
00:46making it the best Thanksgiving debut Hollywood has ever seen.
00:50Throw in global theaters and the sequel raked in an overly impressive $386 million.
00:56In a statement, Disney Entertainment co-chairman Alan Bergman said,

01:14Moana 2's debut also set other box office records, including the biggest Disney animation opening of all time
01:21and the biggest five-day stretch ever.
01:24Thanks to Moana 2, Wicked, which has grabbed $262 million since its debut,
01:30and Gladiator 2, which has taken $111 million since its opening,
01:35the box office is now down just 6 percent from the same time last year, according to BoxOfficeMojo.com.
