00:10After five decades, the province of Cagayan has long longed to be free from the influence of the rebel communists.
00:19This November 29, AFP and PNP passed the joint resolution recommending
00:26the province of Cagayan to be declared insurgency-free.
00:30Minister of the parties here and beside this joint recommendation
00:35declaring the province of Cagayan as insurgency-free.
00:39Province is 29th day of November, 2024, at main building campus of capital compound, Tuguegaro City, Cagayan.
00:47For Governor Manuel Mamba, this is a good gift for the people of Cagayan.
00:52It's something we cherish.
00:55This is probably the best Christmas gift for the people of Cagayan.
01:00When we put an end to 52 or 53 year old insurgency in our province.
01:09This is our job, to help each other.
01:15For me, sometimes it's very emotional for me.
01:20It's been 37 or 38 years that this town has become a problem.
01:27They will be able to help with this declaration
01:30so that the tourism industry of the province can improve its economy.
01:36So now, Cagayan is insurgency-free.
01:40This is an opportunity for tourism in Cagayan that has really improved
01:46and we can improve our different places.
01:50Especially in Cagayan, almost all of our offers are nature-based tourist spots.
01:57Governor Mamba is thankful for all the help to meet the insurgency-free province.
