00:00Oh my god, oh my god, Ross, no, hang up the phone, give me the phone, Ross,
00:03give me the phone, give me the phone, give me the phone!"
00:05Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today, we're looking at the Ross and Rachel moments
00:09that have kept Friends fans fawning over this couple for decades.
00:13You and me, alright? This is it.
00:14This is it. Unless we're on a break.
00:18Number 20. Doing laundry.
00:20After moving in with Monica, Rachel has to adapt to big city life.
00:24Fortunately, she's got Ross to help her lose her laundry virginity.
00:28Have you never done this before?
00:30Well, not myself, but I know other people that have.
00:36Okay, you caught me. I'm a laundry virgin.
00:38Before all their eventual relationship drama,
00:40we catch a glimpse of how pure and comfy Ross and Rachel's friendship is.
00:44Along with showing her the ropes,
00:46Ross teaches Rachel to stand up to people who take advantage of her.
00:49Quit making up rules!
00:51Let go!
00:52Come on, this is my car, you know I thought it was hers!
00:55Alright, listen, Mincy, if you want this car,
00:57you're gonna have to take me with it!
00:59Meanwhile, Rachel brings out the best in Ross,
01:02as fans see just how kind and sweet he can be.
01:04Let's also not forget that this scene technically gives us
01:07the first Ross-Rachel kiss in the series.
01:10Number 19. The Europe story.
01:13There are times when the Friends group is way too close,
01:15and this is certainly one of them.
01:18To figure out who between Ross and Rachel came on to whom,
01:21the gang watches the tape of Emma's conception.
01:24Although Rachel insists it was Ross,
01:26the truth eventually comes to light.
01:28Ross, did I ever tell you about the time that I went
01:31backpacking through Western Europe?
01:33Turns out she used Joey's Europe story,
01:35which is basically the Netflix and chill of the pre-social media era.
01:39You used the Europe story!
01:41That's the magic story you use when you want to have sex!
01:44After being teased for most of the episode,
01:46Ross gets some sweet vindication.
01:48It also makes clear that, deep down,
01:51Rachel desires Ross just as much as he wants her.
01:54I think it would have happened either way.
01:56I mean, if you hadn't initiated it, I know I would have.
02:02It was an amazing night.
02:03Number 18. Inducing labor.
02:06After building up to Rachel's delivery throughout the eighth season,
02:09everyone's eager to see the baby.
02:11Too bad Emma's in no hurry to arrive.
02:14While she's understandably upset,
02:16Rachel takes her frustrations out on Ross.
02:18You.
02:19Like you haven't done enough.
02:25Upon learning that sex could induce labor,
02:27Rachel tries to goad Ross into helping her out.
02:30Although he tries to take the high road,
02:32it isn't long before Ross reaches the end of his rope and gives in.
02:35I mean, you'd think the damn jalapeno would have cleared up your sinuses,
02:38but no, that's not enough.
02:41Before they've gone very far, though, this does the trick.
02:44We don't know if such a quick result is medically accurate,
02:47but Ross sums it up best.
02:48I am good.
02:50Nothing about Rachel's pregnancy was conventional,
02:52so it makes sense that we get something equally unexpected to sign things off.
02:57Number 17. Ross' made-up proposal.
03:00We never see a proper proposal scene between these two,
03:03but Ross does paint a very real picture of what it would have been like.
03:07Forced to act like a married couple for Jack and Judy's anniversary,
03:11Ross and Rachel get creative for their made-up nuptials.
03:14What begins as a joke turns into a surprisingly touching story.
03:18We learn how Ross would have proposed had things worked out with Rachel the way he wanted.
03:22While he's often criticized for how he handled their relationship,
03:25it's hard not to feel your heart melt at this moment.
03:28I took her to the planetarium. That's where we had our first date.
03:32Swept away by his story, even Rachel forgets it never happened.
03:37That is so sweet.
03:38I want to hear the rest.
03:39Although they aren't together at the time,
03:41this interaction shows us why the pair was always meant to be.
03:44I got on one knee and written across the dome in the stars were the words,
03:50Will you marry me?
03:53Number 16. The prank war.
03:55After Rachel teases him for thinking that she was trying to seduce him,
03:58Ross decides to get revenge.
04:00Thus begins a long flight to Vegas with the duo trying to one-up the other.
04:05Whether it's kissing a random guy on the head and blaming it on Ross
04:08or spreading false rumors about Rachel, nothing's off-limits.
04:12Ross, what are you- I'm sorry, sir. I just- I think he just really likes you.
04:17And while Rachel arguably has the upper hand through most of it,
04:21Ross seals the win by drawing on her face with a permanent marker.
04:24It just goes to show that not all Ross and Rachel moments are about romance.
04:28Some are just about how they bring about the silly in each other.
04:31Actually, maybe that is romantic.
04:34Thank you very much. Excellent.
04:37Hope you had a nice flight.
04:38Oh, it was the best.
04:40Number 15. Getting back at Barry.
04:43Rachel's ex-fiancé Barry was already a two-timing jerk,
04:47but he becomes even less likable when Rachel attends his wedding to her friend Mindy.
04:51Rachel's wardrobe malfunction as she walks up the aisle is embarrassing enough,
04:55but she then finds out that Barry's parents told everyone she went insane from syphilis.
05:00Insane?
05:01From the syphilis.
05:03What?
05:06What are they gonna say? You didn't love me anymore? Come on.
05:08While Ross's attempts to stand up for her don't quite work out,
05:11at least the intentions were there.
05:13She walked out on Barry. It's simply that she didn't love him,
05:19which incidentally worked out pretty well for me.
05:22When Rachel finds out that Barry has bet on her leaving early, she's had enough.
05:26Together, Rachel and Ross steal Barry's thunder with a live rendition of Barry Manilow's
05:31Copacabana.
05:32Wait, wait! Everybody!
05:36Copacabana!
05:37Number 14. Saying I love you.
05:40There's nothing wrong with planning for the future,
05:42but you will raise a few eyebrows if you've never discussed it with your partner.
05:46I'm sure you'll feel totally different when it's on, baby.
05:49What?
05:50What?
05:52You think about stuff like that?
05:54Uh, yeah.
05:55Still, saying the L word can sometimes make everything right, as we see here.
05:59While Rachel freaks out over his lofty plans for them, Ross is adamant that they are meant to be.
06:04Despite being in a screaming match, the two realize that there's only one explanation.
06:09They're in love.
06:10It's not every day you see people saying I love you while yelling at each other,
06:14but Ross and Rachel turn this into one of the series' most heartwarming moments.
06:17It's clear they still haven't figured it all out yet,
06:20but things rarely make sense when it's a matter of the heart.
06:23Tough, because you're gonna have to deal with that.
06:25Fine, I will.
06:26Good, because I love you.
06:27Oh, yeah?
06:27Yeah.
06:28Well, I love you too.
06:29Well, that's the first time we've said that.
06:30Yes, it is.
06:31Well, I'm gonna kiss you.
06:32Well, you better.
06:33Number 13.
06:34Ross learns Rachel's expecting.
06:36TV show pregnancy reveals are usually filled with warm-hearted sentiments.
06:40That's not what Friends fans got.
06:42However, the ridiculous comedy of errors here has its own charm.
06:46Misunderstanding Rachel's attempts to talk as wanting to get back together,
06:50Ross is in for the shock of his life.
06:52Condoms only work, like, 97% of the time.
06:57What, what?
06:57Before Rachel knows it, things go off the rails,
07:00and Ross is complaining to the president of the condom company.
07:03It's a delightfully kooky scene that once again goes against our expectations,
07:07as the big Ross and Rachel pregnancy reveal turns into a meltdown for the ages.
07:12I want to talk to the president of the condom company.
07:18Fortunately, Ross comes around to the news,
07:20although the condom company still ends up getting an earful.
07:23What'd you say to her?
07:24Nothing, but the complaint department at the condom company got an earful.
07:29Number 12.
07:30Emma is born.
07:31Sure, several Ross and Rachel moments are played for laughs,
07:34but Emma's arrival has the most wholesome payoff.
07:37With almost an entire day spent in labor, Rachel is finally ready to give birth,
07:42while her head-butting Ross does put a comedic spin on things.
07:45The pair goes through the delivery like a team.
07:47After so many bumps along the way, this scene captures Ross and Rachel at their best.
07:52Now parents to a baby girl, the duo enjoys their moment of bliss.
07:56Do we have a name yet?
07:58No, not yet.
07:59That's fine.
08:00For now, we'll just call her Baby Girl Green.
08:03Oh no, Baby Girl Killer Green.
08:05We wouldn't have complained if this were the series finale,
08:07as the visual of Ross and Rachel sharing a beautiful kiss
08:10seems like the proper ending to their story.
08:13Of course, there was still more to come, but few moments are as perfect as this one.
08:17Hello, baby girl.
08:20Number 11.
08:21Singing for Emma.
08:22Who knows what goes on in the mind of a baby?
08:24Some, like Emma, might be partial to finding humor in big butts.
08:28Try as they might,
08:29Ross and Rachel can't get a laugh out of her unless it's lyrics from Sir Mix-A-Lot.
08:34You sang Baby Got Back, didn't you?
08:36Nothing else worked.
08:37The girl is all about the ass.
08:39So, like any good parent would,
08:41the two put on a live performance of Baby Got Back for their child.
08:45It's as bizarre as it sounds,
08:47yet you can't take your eyes off them even if you wanted to.
08:50Fellas!
08:51Yeah?
08:51Fellas!
08:52Yeah?
08:52Has your girlfriend got the butt?
08:54Hell yeah!
08:54So shake it!
08:55Shake it!
08:56Shake it!
08:56Shake it!
08:57Shake that nasty butt!
08:58Just ask the rest of the Friends gang,
09:00whom Rachel and Ross realize all too late were watching their performance the whole time.
09:04I like big butts and I cannot lie!
09:08You are the best!
09:09Number 10.
09:10Ross takes Rachel to the hospital.
09:12Not long after their infamous breakup,
09:14Ross proves he's not such a bad guy by giving up the professional opportunity
09:18of a lifetime to help his ex-girlfriend.
09:20Ross has a spot on a panel for the Discovery Channel,
09:23but an injured Rachel begs for his help to get ready for a work dinner.
09:26Either help me or go.
09:29Fine, I'll go.
09:31Okay, but before you go, could you help me first?
09:38Sure, I'll help you.
09:39He tries to rush through doing her makeup, hilariously,
09:42but ultimately decides it's more important that he take Rachel to the hospital.
09:46The tension between them,
09:47and the fact that Rachel doesn't know what Ross is giving up for her,
09:50make this moment stand out.
09:52And when Rachel does find out,
09:54she's incredibly moved,
09:55and almost seems ready to forgive Ross for the
09:57we-were-on-a-break fiasco.
09:59I cannot believe you.
10:01What?
10:02That is the sweetest thing.
10:04Number 9.
10:06Marriage in Vegas.
10:07The season 5 finale had us all prepared for a Bing Geller wedding,
10:11but instead of the nuptials we'd been promised all season,
10:14we got the marriage we'd been asking for since the very beginning.
10:17Granted, it wasn't under the most perfect of circumstances,
10:20but for a few short episodes,
10:22we were all treated to a glimpse of Mrs. Ross and Mr. Rachel.
10:31Hello, Mrs. Ross!
10:33Well, hello, Mr. Rachel!
10:36Lucky for us, the marriage leads to some of the funniest Ross and Rachel moments,
10:40as Rachel finds out from Ross' divorce lawyer that he didn't get the annulment,
10:44and she files for one herself,
10:46claiming that Ross is a gay, mentally unstable person with substance use disorder
10:50who couldn't consummate the marriage.
10:52I'm not gay, and there's no problem with my ability to consummate anything.
10:56Look, I'll consummate this marriage right here, right now.
10:59Number 8.
11:00When were you under me?
11:02Ross has the worst luck.
11:04He just so happens to be in China when Rachel finds out about his feelings for her
11:08and decides to give a relationship with him a try.
11:10You know Rachel, the girl he'd pined for since high school?
11:13Rachel heads to the airport to surprise him,
11:15but when Ross gets off the plane with Julie, Rachel does not take it well.
11:20She eventually hits rock bottom when she leaves Ross a drunken voicemail,
11:23and her best attempts to prevent Ross from hearing it aren't quite good enough.
11:27You're over me?
11:28Oh, God, oh, God, oh, God, oh, God, oh, God, oh, God.
11:33When, when were you under me?
11:37David Schwimmer is at his uncontrollable best as Ross tries to process the information,
11:42but Julie arrives just in time to add to the awkwardness,
11:45leaving Ross and Rachel's fate in the balance.
11:48That's, that's Julie.
11:50That's Julie, Julie, Julie.
11:53Hi, Julie.
11:53Hi, honey, I've got a cab waiting.
11:55I'll be right down.
11:58Number seven, night at the museum.
12:00Ross and Rachel are both excited for their first real date when Ross gets called into work.
12:05While a museum date may not sound like much fun,
12:08Ross pulls out all the stops, setting up some sexy tunes and a beautiful projection
12:12so the pair can stargaze while sipping on their juice boxes.
12:15Listen, I'm sorry I had to work tonight.
12:18No, it's okay.
12:20You were worth the wait.
12:23And I don't just mean tonight.
12:25It wasn't the date they'd been planning, but it turns out to be just as romantic,
12:29if not more so.
12:30That is, until they wake up the next morning to see a visiting group of stunned schoolchildren.
12:35I can't believe I'm waking up next to you.
12:38I know, it is pretty unbelievable.
12:40This may be the ultimate example of Ross going the extra mile,
12:44and he certainly scores points with Rachel,
12:46but we're still not quite sure how he didn't get fired.
12:50Number six, the breakup.
12:52You could always count on friends to be funny, but when the situation called for heavy drama,
12:56the show was unafraid to punch us right in the gut.
12:59Besides the rest of the gang eating leg wax in Monica's bedroom,
13:02there's very little to laugh about in the one with the morning after.
13:06That's when Rachel finds out that Ross cheated on her,
13:08or took advantage of them being on a break, depending on how you look at it.
13:12I didn't think there was a relationship to jeopardize.
13:14I thought we were broken up.
13:16We were on a break.
13:17That, for all I knew, could last forever.
13:19That, to me, is a breakup.
13:20The resulting scene is so relatable and so heartbreaking,
13:24we still have trouble watching it.
13:25But the breakup is written in such a way that you clearly see both sides of the argument,
13:30and the actors more than do it justice.
13:33This can't be it.
13:40Then how come it is?
13:41Number five, the prom video.
13:44It may be hard to believe,
13:45but Ross Geller wasn't always such a smooth-talking ladies' man,
13:48as evidenced by Monica's old prom video.
13:50While Monica and Rachel get ready for their big night,
13:53Ross, the older college student with facial hair extraordinaire,
13:57is lurking in the background,
13:58ready to jump at the chance to save the girl he loves from high school humiliation.
14:02Bye!
14:08Oh, dear.
14:10Jack, how do I turn this off?
14:12Of course, it's Ross who's eventually humiliated,
14:14but the gesture is enough for present-day Rachel
14:17to forgive him for the infamous pros and cons list.
14:19The ensuing kiss makes any list of memorable friends moments,
14:23and kicks off the pair's relationship for real.
14:25And as for the mating rituals of lobsters, Phoebe has never spoken truer words.
14:30See? He's her lobster.
14:32Number four, we were on a break.
14:35The show's most infamous quote originated in season three,
14:38when Rachel suggests they take time apart to think about their relationship,
14:42and, well, we've already mentioned what happens next.
14:44Let's get some frozen yogurt or something.
14:49No.
14:53A break from us.
14:54Ross' excuse became a running gag on friends,
14:57but perhaps its greatest ever use comes during their second breakup.
15:02You know, the one where Rachel writes Ross that letter asking him
15:05to take full responsibility for everything bad that happened between them?
15:08There's nothing subtle about this blowout.
15:10This time, both Ross and Rachel do their best to publicly shame each other.
15:15We were on a break!
15:17It was gutsy to write a funny breakup scene for this fan-favorite couple,
15:20but David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston shine,
15:23this time in loud, over-the-top performances.
15:26It definitely paid off.
15:28I just feel bad about all that sleep you're gonna miss wishing you were with me.
15:31Oh, no, no, don't you worry about me falling asleep.
15:34I still have your letter!
15:36Number three, Ross says Rachel.
15:38The Ross and Rachel saga wasn't a huge part of Season 4,
15:42so when the friends took off for London to see Ross marry Emily,
15:45it left us wondering if our favorite TV couple was over for good.
15:48Little did we know that shelving the pair throughout the season was a cruel ploy,
15:52as Ross' accidental confession at the altar comes out of nowhere,
15:56reopening the door for this on-and-off couple in one of the show's most surprising twists.
16:01I just needed to tell you.
16:06Congratulations.
16:07The minds behind Friends always knew when to keep Ross and Rachel on the back burner.
16:11In fact, sometimes they did it for entire seasons.
16:14But the longer the build-up, the more memorable the payoff.
16:17I, Ross.
16:19I, Ross.
16:20Take thee, Emily.
16:22Take thee, Rachel.
16:28Emily.
16:29Number two, the first real kiss.
16:31The one where Ross finds out is arguably the most quintessential Ross and Rachel episode ever,
16:36as drunken messages and arguments over Ross and Julie's cat culminate
16:40in one iconic moment in Central Perk.
16:42It's too late.
16:43I'm with somebody else.
16:44I'm happy.
16:45This ship has sailed.
16:46So what do you say?
16:47You just sort of put away feelings or whatever the hell it was that you felt for me?
16:50I've been doing it since the ninth grade.
16:51I've gotten pretty damn good at it.
16:53Rachel is closing down the deserted coffee shop when Ross turns up to rant at her.
16:57Emotions run high, ships have sailed,
16:59but it's clear what they both want even through all the yelling.
17:03Try the bottom one.
17:04It's satisfying to see a moment that's been building for a full 30 episodes actually pay off,
17:09but Ross and Rachel's first kiss is so much more than just a first kiss.
17:13It cemented their place in television history as early as season two.

17:33Number one.
17:34I got off the plane.
17:35Ten years after we first met this iconic couple,
17:38Rachel finds herself moving to Paris and has to say au revoir to her friends.
17:42After she says goodbye to everyone but Ross, then sleeps with him,
17:46then gets on the plane to Paris anyway,
17:48Ross gets one final chance to tell Rachel how he feels courtesy of a frantic race to the airport.
17:54I know you love me.
17:56I know you do.
17:59Miss?
18:00I... I have to get on the plane.
18:03He returns home rejected.
18:05But soon enough, ten seasons of Will They Won't They, Laundry and Lobsters,
18:09and loads of We Were on a Breaks are all wrapped up in five little words.
18:13Oh my god, did she get off the plane? Did she get off the plane?
18:19I got off the plane.
18:21The wait to see Ross and Rachel get their happily ever after comes down to a last-minute change of
18:25heart and a faulty phalange, but it was all totally worth it.
18:29Do you think Ross and Rachel were ever on a break? Sound off in the comments.
18:33Because you guys were on a break.
18:34Hey, we were not on a-
