00:24Today's meeting is to inform one of our heroes,
00:30Staff Sergeant Md. Abdul Rahman Khalid,
00:33on the courage he has shown to save the lives of four young men
00:39who were almost drowned in the Bukit Alam lake on November 24th.
00:45This is an act that shows his spirit,
00:51courage, and bravery as a soldier
00:58to carry out his social responsibility
01:03to save the lives of the people in distress at that time.
01:10So, Alhamdulillah, his attitude or his actions
01:16must be an example to all soldiers,
01:21and it is hoped that it can also inspire all Malaysians
01:31that we all have a responsibility
01:36to take care of and help each other.
01:42We believe that this is an act that we should give confidence
01:47and for all soldiers,
01:50being promoted is one of the contributions from the army
01:57that can not only give confidence but also help them.
02:02By being promoted, he will get a higher salary
02:07so that he can contribute to himself and his family.
02:10At the time of the incident,
02:13around 12.30pm,
02:18there was a WhatsApp group in the park
02:22saying that there was a drowned boy in the lake behind my house.
02:25At the same time, I heard my son start his motorcycle
02:29and go straight to the lake.
02:31When I arrived at the lake,
02:33I saw that there were a lot of people around the lake
02:37with all the rescue teams, such as the police and the bomb.
02:42Then I asked my park manager, Haji Anib,
02:48and he said that the rescue team had already called
02:51but they had not arrived at the scene yet.
02:54Then I asked him if I could rescue the boy.
03:00He told me that the boy was in danger
03:02and that he was already inside the lake.
03:04I told him that I would try to save him
03:06and that was the only thing I could tell him.
03:08What made you feel like you wanted to save him
03:13even though you were told that he was in the middle of the lake?
03:16When I arrived at the scene,
03:18I wanted to save him
03:20and I saw the condition of the victim.
03:23I asked the rescuer how long the victim was in the middle of the lake.
03:27He told me that it was around 45 minutes.
03:29I thought to myself that it was 45 minutes
03:31before the rescue team arrived
03:33and I was afraid that something bad was going to happen.
03:35I thought that maybe Allah had chosen me to save him.
03:40But Alhamdulillah, I dared to go down to the lake
03:44and I was able to save the victim.
03:47I would like to ask you something.
03:49When you were given the rank of Sergeant to Sergeant,
03:54did you receive any rewards from the TD?
03:59Alhamdulillah, thank you.
04:01I was given the rank of 41st Battalion,
04:04and the TD team was very proud of me.
04:07The army raised my name,
04:10but I didn't expect that they would ask for this.
04:12But Alhamdulillah,
04:13if Allah had chosen me,
04:15I would have been able to raise the name of the army in Malaysia.
