00:00A shelter for over 400 stray cats in Kampung Kubang Terap, Pasir Mas has been flooded by
00:08more than two metres of water.
00:11Its owner, Ailyus Mida Awang, told Bernama on Friday that she and several other staff
00:17had not been able to visit the shelter for two days as their own homes were also almost
00:23inundated.
00:25She said they broke part of the ceiling to enable some of the cats take shelter on higher
00:29ground while other cats were relocated to an old building in the area.
00:35She added that they were unable to move all the cats as at that time the water level was
00:39rising fast and they had to leave the area immediately.
00:43Ailyus Mida said the cats were provided with food but it may have run out after two days.
00:49They were also informed that the entrance to the shelter was flooded and could only
00:53be accessed by boat.
00:54She said she contacted the authorities but they were in the midst of rescuing flood victims.
00:59She hopes someone will come forward to help save the cats because if the flood worsens
