00:00What do you think about the end of the year?
00:04The year ends very well, very positively.
00:07Roma-Fiumicino is the airport that grows the most in Europe, and by far.
00:12When the second airport grows the most, it grows at half the pace of Fiumicino.
00:16Fiumicino grows by more than 20% compared to last year,
00:19and we expect in 2025, we already see it,
00:21that it will grow even more, probably even more, in double figures.
00:25This means that the volume of traffic that will flourish in 2024
00:29will reach 50 million passengers, which is really an unthinkable threshold.
00:33Only a short time ago there was a volume of traffic,
00:35and we thought, only a year or two years ago,
00:37that we would have reached it by 2028.
00:39So the future is being anticipated.
00:41This is certainly part of a very strong attractiveness of the Italian system
00:47as a great tourist destination,
00:49but perhaps also of a structural change in the behavior of our passengers.
00:53Passengers who begin to put their wishes higher,
00:57travel to interesting and attractive tourist destinations,
01:02and therefore, if this is the case, it is not only a temporary outburst,
01:06but it risks being a structural trend,
01:08in which, I repeat, Italy is a candidate to be one of the most magnetic destinations
01:13at the international level.
01:15For this reason, the traffic from and for Italy
01:20can certainly benefit from a more robust ITA, and it will do so,
01:25but it is not exactly essential,
01:27because global travelers will come to Italy independently of the vector.
01:33However, the agreement between ITA and Lufthansa, on the other hand,
01:35is key and instrumental to, first of all,
01:38stabilize and give a healthy prospect of growth to the national reference vector,
01:42a prospect that has been objectively lacking in the last 15 years,
01:46but also to enhance the Fiumicino hub as a transit hub.
01:50Italy, for the geographical position it has,
01:52can play an important role in many sectors,
01:55the energy sector is one of them, but without a doubt also the transport sector,
01:58to be a reference platform for the entire Mediterranean basin and beyond.
