00:44But to do more service programs, it would be good to arrange an organization
00:50VTVO started the service organization under the name of The Volunteers
00:54As soon as VTVO was established, Surendran started doing service programs
00:59He has done 15 types of service programs including collecting blood, platelets, protecting animals, providing services to children and elderly
01:09In these 2 years, he has collected 2500 units of blood
01:12Many people liked his services and came forward to join him
01:19This is not a volunteer platform or NGO
01:22None of us are into this full time
01:24We all come together in the weekends to volunteer
01:27That's how we have kept, including myself, we are all volunteers here
01:32We volunteer on Saturdays and Sundays
01:35In Hyderabad, the very first year that we are doing, we have 20 old age homes, 301 senior citizens participating
01:43All senior citizens are quite happy
01:47First time they are coming out of their old age home to participate in a fest of this sort
01:52They are winning prizes, medals, trophies
01:55We are announcing a champion trophy now
01:57One old age home has won a champion trophy
01:59Where more number of participation from the senior citizens were there
02:03Few months before the service program, Surendran organized a social gathering
02:09To make the young man a part of the society, he organized an extensive campaign
02:13Along with Tamil Nadu and Karnataka states, he organized many services in Telugu states
02:18In this event, along with the local people, hundreds of VTVO volunteers are participating
02:25We go to old age homes
02:27We spend 2 hours there
02:29By playing board games, singing, dancing, mendi, nail polish
02:35We call it diversional therapy
02:37When we go to old age homes to spend our time with them
02:41They feel happy, they feel diverted
02:44And that's the reason why we are there to share our time
02:48We have been volunteering for 10 years

02:52And in 2017 we came up with a concept called Peddala Jatra or Elder's Fest
02:59In Bangalore it's called Hiriyara Jatra
03:01Where we invited various old age homes to participate in a fest
03:07As a part of the services, he organized a social gathering to make the old age homes a part of the society
03:15In Hyderabad, he organized a Peddala Jatra
03:19This is the first time in both Telugu states that such an event has taken place
03:23From 20 old age homes in the city, he gathered 300 old people
03:28He organized games and songs for them
03:32Apart from Elder's Adda, we volunteer for children
03:35We volunteer for animal welfare
03:37We volunteer for people with disabilities
03:39And under these three causes, there are multiple initiatives
03:43We read story books for children
03:45We celebrate birthdays of kids who stay in children's homes
03:49Then we go to animal shelter for taking care of the shelter
03:54Or taking animals for walking
03:56Giving medicines for animals
03:58Then we are into adoption drives
04:00We promote pet adoptions
04:02Then we write exams for visually impaired students
04:05We record books for visually impaired students
04:09Then we volunteer for children with disabilities
04:12Autism, Down syndrome
04:14For those children we conduct social activities
04:17Like this we have 15 different causes through which we are volunteers
04:22Every weekend we volunteer for one or the other cause
04:26Volunteers from VTVO say that social activities increase the awareness of the society
04:32They say that they are happy to participate in many activities in a week
