00:05after a big fire last night

00:07that affected many families

00:09and residents

00:11as well as those who were rescued

00:13by PDM of Manila City Jail.

00:16Isaiah Mira Fuentes is the center of the news.

00:21It was trapped,

00:22so this family just passed through the roof

00:24when the families in Barangay 310, Santa Cruz, Manila were burned.

00:29They have no other way to go

00:31because the fire is too strong.

00:34Even the PDLs in Manila City Jail were blown away

00:37because of the nearby houses of the prison

00:39where the fire suddenly spread.

00:41It was just before midnight

00:43when the fire started in the third floor of a building.

00:47We couldn't bring the fire extinguisher

00:49because it suddenly got bigger.

00:50The fire was quick because of the light material.

00:53The fire was even harder for the firefighters

00:57because of the narrow streets in the area.

00:59The fire started in the middle of the residential area.

01:05Some personnel from Manila City Jail

01:07needed help in extinguishing the fire.

01:10Fortunately, the prison has a firewall

01:13and its walls are high,

01:15so it didn't get damaged.

01:18Carol's family

01:19didn't know how to start again

01:22so they couldn't be saved.

01:24The fire started right behind their house.

01:28We only got the bag of documents

01:32and these are our clothes.

01:34We didn't bring any clothes.

01:36These are the only clothes we wore.

01:38It took more than 8 hours

01:40before the fire was completely extinguished.

01:42The fire was raised to five alarms.

01:45About 500 families were supposed to celebrate Christmas

01:50without a home because of the fire.

01:53Two were injured

01:55and one of them had a second-degree burn.

01:58The fire started in the mid-portion of the area.

02:05The road was very narrow

02:11so we could get the focal point of the fire.

02:17The residential area is wide.

02:19Every year, there's a fire in their area.

02:22Most of the houses are made of light materials.

02:26The Bureau of Fire Protection

02:28is aware of the fire

02:29and the damage it caused.
