00:00let's just go to the north where this is pretty simple. Baltimore and Lamar for a very long time,
00:06Cincinnati and Joe Burrow for perhaps even longer. Pittsburgh and Cleveland, little more up in the
00:13air. Pittsburgh, though, who at this point, it would be stunning if they didn't make the post
00:21season. And a team who's been pretty loyal to Russ this year. I kind of think they're going
00:31to give him a contract. That doesn't mean it's going to be a super long one, but I think they're
00:38going to give him a deal. And the question then is, will they also be looking to retain Justin
00:46Fields and would Fields be okay with that? I don't think there's starter work out there for
00:51Justin Fields. I don't. So if you're Fields and Tomlin's going to do the rust thing
01:01and they offer you a deal, I'd stick around. If I was Fields, that job could still come free
01:10during a season, whether that would be a rust injury or a rust benching.
01:21And here's why that's relevant, because I think Pittsburgh's a team who would be wise.
01:30Let's say they bring in rust or keep rust. They'd be wise to look quarterback,
01:37do the sit for a year thing. Sue, if you're lucky and then play the quarterback.
01:44But I just don't know if that's Tomlin's M.O. Tomlin's been in Pittsburgh for a very long time,
01:50but he's also still a pretty young coach. Winning is everything for Tomlin, which again, it is hard
01:58to knock that, but. The team does need to find a way, I think, to still get the star quarterback.
02:09Even if you've been impressed by rust this year, like realistically, right? You know,
02:15Russ is Donnie's guy. He's he's he talked up the move when it happened and Russ has been
02:24successful enough to feel it's the right move. We'll see if Pittsburgh does lose their next game.
02:33Russ will be four and two in his opening six games, which is the exact same record Fields was
02:40through the six games he was given. But. I, I think if this team was going to keep rust in
02:48the building. Bringing in a quarterback in the opening round, giving them time to develop.
02:55It would be a good way to kind of allow Tomlin to say, hey, I'm competing, I'm competing,
02:59I'm competing, but I know that this probably isn't enough. I just think you're lying to yourself.
03:04If you feel Pittsburgh can win a Super Bowl. I mean, come on, right? Like we saw.
03:10Pittsburgh's four day window of beating Baltimore and losing to Cleveland
03:16tells me they're the same team they always are. And.
03:22Quarterback plays a part of that. Just this. So I think Pittsburgh is a team who could draft in
03:29the opening round. I don't think they're a threat to sign a big name. If they're giving a quarterback
03:36money, I think they're going to give it to Russell Wilson. Cleveland, of course, has Watson and.
03:42The, the, the Browns could write draft up top a QB.
03:52But that Watson deal is still not really close to done.
03:58And it is obviously such a monster contract. I don't really think they can afford to pay a round
04:07one QB. I don't think they need to keep playing Watson. Obviously,
04:17you know, a season ending injury that could delay when we see Watson available for your 2025 season.
04:26But I think the Cleveland approach still needs to be a very cheap backup QB, but effective.
