00:00I'm here in sunny Cambridge, England to show you why this famous university city isn't just for students
00:06And you can trust me because I used to live here. Let's go
00:12Cambridge has a huge student population, but it's also a city and destination in its own, right?
00:19Look when you're on holiday
00:20It's basically an unwritten rule that you've got to start the day with a massive delicious bomb of caffeine and sugar
00:26So I'm here today at the iconic Fitzbillies bakery to get my fix
00:31Fitzbillies is a Cambridge institution that's over 100 years old and it's Chelsea buns are world-famous
00:38It's a hundred-year-old secret recipe, and I tell you I have to kill you
00:43Really? No as they come out of the oven
00:45They're turned on their face and then they have
00:48The syrup poured over the top and painted with a big brush and that's why they sit in the window upside down
00:54Soaking in their own syrup and they get flipped at the last minute to bring them to you
00:59All right, let's try it
01:06That is really delicious
01:10One of the best things you can do in Cambridge is simply walk around it's like an open-air museum explore easily with a walking tour
01:18As
01:20The university is in session we can't enter the college today, but you can still sneak a glimpse of the perfectly manicured lawns from a distance
01:34One eye-catching sight at street level is the Corpus clock which is believed to be the largest grasshopper clock in the world
01:41Of which there probably aren't that many
01:44If you look closely you'll see it doesn't have hands or digital numbers the clocks radiating ripples are said to allude to the Big Bang
01:52Next we're doing a classic Cambridge activity
01:55Punting these rectangular boats are unmissable. They're the city's answer to Venice's gondolas perhaps even more romantic
02:03Next we're going on a 45-minute boat tour around the back of the Cambridge colleges. This is our lovely tour guide Tom from Scudamores
02:14Perfect
02:16On a punt you can see into many university buildings that you otherwise wouldn't be able to access a
02:23Lot of the building projects built around this time as this built between 1825 to 31
02:34And since these boats are very heavy move quite fast
02:37We can't really slow them down a lot a lot of bumps happen. Sometimes people fall in as well
02:42You'll be fine don't worry
02:45Now we're gonna pick up a typical Cambridge souvenir
02:51While Ryder and Amy's may look like a standard-issue tourist shop students actually buy their academic robes here, too
02:59It's one for the Americans
03:04Sporty yet chic, what do you think?
03:08All
03:10That history has made me a little bit peckish so it's time for the quintessential British lunch supermarket sandwiches
03:21If you want to be really British the best place to enjoy your sandwich is outside come rain or shine I
03:28Don't know about you, but when I'm somewhere as historic as Cambridge it feels wrong to not go to a museum
03:34So today we're going to this incredible neoclassical building the Fitzwilliam
03:40In here you can see treasures from antiquity
03:43Anglo-saxon tools and world-famous artwork
03:47Well, this is a really really special collection and I recommend adding it to your itinerary
03:53You know, what's really cool is that the Fitzwilliam Museum is home to over
03:57500,000 objects from around the world and even better entry is free
04:09We're finishing up the day with a real English pint in a real English pub
04:12So, what do you think have I convinced you to go to Cambridge?
04:15I'm sure you're going to love it. I'm sure you're going to love it
04:17I'm sure you're going to love it. I'm sure you're going to love it
04:19So, what do you think have I convinced you to go to Cambridge for the day let us know in the comments
