00:00And here we go.
00:03Welcome to WatchMojo.
00:05And today, we're counting down our picks
00:07for the greatest comic book bad guys of them all.
00:11I'm glad you asked that, because I
00:12wanted to take this time to explain my evil plan.
00:17Number 30, Gorilla Grodd.
00:19Hailing from the kingdom of Gorilla City,
00:21Grodd has been kicking the Flash's butt
00:23since the late 50s.
00:25Foolish human.
00:27I am Grodd.
00:31He's not just a scary gorilla who can rip you apart
00:34limb from limb, though.
00:35He also happens to be one of DC's smartest villains.
00:38He's pretty good at manipulating people,
00:41and he hardly even needs his telepathy to do it.
00:43Grodd's also willing to play nice with other supervillains,
00:46as he's been a part of countless teams
00:48like the Injustice League and the Legion of Doom,
00:50to name a few.
00:51The Flash might be a speedy hero,
00:53but when Grodd wants to cause trouble, then no one is safe.
00:57A psychotic gorilla with mind-control powers
00:59is a license to print money, and we won't hear otherwise.
01:03Flash is my enemy.
01:06Now you too.
01:08Number 29, Prometheus.
01:10In comics, nobody is a better example of a one-man army
01:14than Prometheus.
01:15In many ways, he's like Batman, only he
01:18doesn't use his ability for the greater good.
01:20This skilled strategist is able to adapt
01:22to virtually anything and anyone thanks to his cool toys.
01:26With his special helmet, he can learn any fighting style
01:29instantaneously, and with his ghost zone key,
01:32he can teleport.
01:33These kinds of gizmos have helped him single-handedly
01:36take down the Justice League.
01:37Yeah, that's right.
01:39Prometheus has gotten a one-up on some of the greatest
01:42heroes of them all.
01:43If he can nearly defeat the Justice League all by himself,
01:46then he definitely deserves some respect on his name.
01:49This is about so much more than revenge.
01:57Number 28, Mysterio.
01:59You can never trust what you see when Mysterio is around.
02:03You don't want any part of this.
02:06The Spider-Man villain's mastery of VFX
02:08makes him a dangerous threat who can twist reality on a whim.
02:12OK, maybe he doesn't actually twist it,
02:15but when his tricks look that real,
02:17it's practically the next best thing.
02:19Besides his extreme knowledge of special effects,
02:22Mysterio is also known to be a great fighter.
02:24Besides his extreme knowledge of special effects,
02:27Quentin Beck has also dabbled a little bit in chemistry.
02:30That extracurricular activity has
02:32allowed him to make substances that
02:33can weaken Spider-Man's web and even his spider senses.
02:37Besides the comics, he also pretty much
02:39ruined Peter's life in the MCU when
02:41he outed his secret identity to the whole world.
02:44Sure, the fishbowl helmet might make him look silly,
02:47but ultimately, he's no laughing matter.
02:49You made your choice, and all you had to do was step aside.
02:53Number 27, Deathstroke.
02:56Slade Wilson is one of the most feared villains in the DC
02:59universe, and for good reason.
03:01It's been a long time, hasn't it, Titans?
03:04A month, a year, a millennium?
03:08Far too long for my tastes anyway.
03:10He's easily one of the most skilled assassins around,
03:13and that line of work isn't easy since superpowers exist.
03:16When he's not hunting down people for money,
03:18he's also battling heroes like Batman, Green Arrow,
03:21the Teen Titans, and more.
03:23We really can't understate just how wicked he is.
03:26Sure, he's cool, like he once had
03:28a sword that could kill gods, but he's also
03:31completely rotten to the core.
03:33He manipulated terror in a truly heinous way,
03:36hijacked the Speed Force, and even battled his own kids.
03:39He's sometimes told the lines of morality,
03:42but when it comes down to it, Deathstroke's
03:44a villain plain and simple.
03:46I am the thing that keeps you up at night,
03:49the evil that haunts every dark corner of your mind.
03:53I will never rest, and neither will you.
03:56Number 26, Mystique.
03:58Looks can be deceiving, and that's never been
04:01more true than with Mystique.
04:02You know, people like you are the reason
04:04I was afraid to go to school as a child.
04:06Oh!
04:09The mischievous mutant can fool anyone
04:12by changing her physical appearance.
04:13It's a trick that proves useful on more than one occasion.
04:17That's not all, though.
04:18Mystique is also a highly skilled combatant
04:21who's unafraid to step into the heart of the battle.
04:23While she's experienced a shift to good in recent years,
04:27it's hard to ignore the villainous threat she's been.
04:30Like, she was once the leader of the Brotherhood
04:32of Evil Mutants.
04:33No matter which way you look at it,
04:35that's some very specific branding,
04:37and it's pretty hard to distance yourself from something
04:40as extreme as that.
04:42Number 25, Scarecrow.
04:44Psychologist Jonathan Crane uses his extensive knowledge
04:47of the human mind like it's a weapon,
04:49manipulating people however he see fits.
04:51They scream and they cry.
04:55Which is your day now?
04:57Though he can play people like a fiddle,
04:59he primarily relies on his fear toxins to do the trick.
05:02When exposed, the gas forces in his body
05:04can cause him to feel like he's about to explode.
05:07He's also known for his ability to manipulate
05:09When exposed, the gas forces people
05:11to hallucinate their worst fears.
05:14If you think about it, this unique brand of villainy
05:17makes Scarecrow a perfect foil for Batman.
05:19Because if Batman's persona is all about
05:22instilling fear in criminals,
05:23what happens when he faces a villain
05:25whose chemicals can terrify even him?
05:28He can turn even the toughest of men
05:30into weeping little children.
05:32Plus, if his toxin wasn't haunting enough,
05:34his unsettling design will scare you too.
05:37This guy is the master of fear for a reason.
05:40For my opinion, you need to lighten up.
05:46Number 24, Ultron.
05:47The looming threat of artificial intelligence
05:50and the dangers it can pose for the world
05:51are more relevant than ever before.
05:53But now I'm free.
06:01There are no strings on me.
06:04And in the Marvel universe,
06:06the most powerful AI of them all is Ultron.
06:09Created by Hank Pym to be a force of good,
06:11he quickly went against his original programming.
06:14That's hardly new ground for these type of evil robots.
06:17But remember, Ultron is an evil AI
06:20in a world filled with superheroes.
06:22Meaning that his beef isn't just with humans.
06:24It's with everyone, including the Avengers themselves.
06:28He's become a vengeful maniac
06:30who has repeatedly slain countless innocent people
06:33in his bloodthirsty quest to extinguish humankind.
06:36So yeah, he's far more than just a ticked-off chatbot.
06:40When the Earth starts to settle,
06:42God throws a stone at it.
06:44And believe me, he's winding up.
06:47Number 23, Reverse Flash.
06:49This might sound controversial,
06:51but we're going to say it anyway.
06:53Reverse Flash might be the greatest hater in all of fiction.
06:57Why did you kill my mother?
06:59Because I hate you.
07:01Not you now.
07:02You years from now.
07:03In the future.
07:04In a future, yes.
07:06Eobard Thawne has manipulated all of time
07:08just so he can ruin Barry Allen's life over and over.
07:12His most diabolical schemes
07:14include murdering Barry's mother, Nora,
07:16and his girlfriend, Iris.
07:18Even Thawne's own family isn't safe,
07:20considering he wiped his brother, Robert,
07:22out from existence too.
07:24He also broke into the Batcave
07:26and tore apart a letter from Batman's father
07:28as an additional F.U.
07:30His pettiness truly knows no limits,
07:32and he's too stubborn to die.
07:34Yes, you can kill him,
07:36but thanks to the negative speed force,
07:38he's always been able to come back.
07:40He's vicious, psychotic,
07:42and easily The Flash's greatest nemesis.
07:45Just so we're clear, after I kill you,
07:48I'm going to kill them,
07:49and then I'm going to kill your father.
07:51I always win.
07:53Fly.
07:54Number 22, Two-Face.
07:56The once-promising Harvey Dent's facial disfigurement
07:59marked his fall from grace
08:01and cemented his role as a bad guy.
08:03I'm sorry, Harvey.
08:07No.
08:09No, you're not.
08:12Not yet.
08:13There's a real tragedy to Two-Face
08:15that makes him such a compelling Batman villain.
08:18He was once friends with Bruce Wayne,
08:20but everything changed for the worse.
08:22As Two-Face, he typically operates
08:24with a coin in one hand and a gun in the other.
08:27He's always looking to enact
08:29his own twisted sense of justice,
08:31and that puts him at odds with Batman.
08:33Harvey is a cunning yet incredibly unstable foe.
08:37He's constantly teetering on the edge of sanity,
08:39and his unpredictability makes him
08:41someone you can never truly trust.
08:44Heck, with his fractured mental state,
08:46Two-Face can barely even trust himself.
08:48Fair enough.
08:53You first.
08:54Number 21, Galactus.
08:56The Devourer of Worlds.
08:59The Connoisseur of the Cosmos.
09:01The Giant Killer Space Dude.
09:03Galactus has gone by many names,
09:05but no matter what he's called,
09:07his reputation precedes him.
09:09Galactus.
09:15Face, the Planet Destroyer,
09:17is literally and figuratively
09:19one of the biggest villains in the Marvel Universe.
09:21But even though he's tried to conquer Earth
09:23and consume countless planets,
09:25some could argue that he's a necessary evil.
09:28That's a loaded debate for another day.
09:30But what's not up for debate
09:31is that Galactus possesses sheer power
09:33that we can't comprehend.
09:35He's a pure force of nature,
09:37and we're not just saying that.
09:39When it's all said and done,
09:40Galactus will outlive us all.
09:42Oh boy, I think we just ticked him off.
09:50Number 20, Bullseye.
09:52The world of comics isn't short on assassins,
09:55but even on a crowded playing field,
09:57this villain stands out.
09:59Not unlike the Joker,
10:00Bullseye's origin story is shrouded in mystery.
10:03He loves to keep those interested in the dark
10:06with conflicting accounts of his early life.
10:08And that's not all this Marvel villain
10:10shares in common with the Clown Prince of Crime.
10:12He's also a violent psychopath
10:14with a sadistic streak a mile wide.
10:17The arch-nemesis of Daredevil,
10:19Bullseye really left his mark on the medium
10:21and cemented his status as an iconic supervillain
10:24when he savagely killed Elektra with one of her own side,
10:27and then stuck around to watch Daredevil mourn.
10:30He lives the kill,
10:32but loves tormenting the man without fear.
10:35Number 19, Dark Phoenix.
10:37Many heroes have been manipulated,
10:39mind-controlled, or possessed by dark entities
10:41to make them turn evil
10:42at some point or another in their career,
10:45but it's usually short-lived.
10:47When Jean Grey was possessed by the Phoenix Force, however,
10:50she became an unstable villain
10:51with an awe-inspiring, earth-shattering,
10:53and downright terrifying powers,
10:55and she remained that way
10:57for the duration of the landmark Phoenix saga,
10:59forever changing the face of the X-Men.
11:02In this supercharged, volatile state,
11:04Jean Grey was responsible for the death of billions
11:07when she consumed a star.
11:08Of course, at the very heart
11:10of the character's enduring appeal
11:12is the internal struggle between Jean Grey
11:14and the corrupting influence of the Phoenix Force.
11:17She's a villain, sure,
11:18but underneath lies a beloved hero.
11:21Number 18, Ozymandias.
11:23He's the man pulling the strings
11:25in arguably the greatest graphic novel of all time.
11:28What makes Adrian Veidt such a great villain
11:31is that he truly believes that what he is doing,
11:34he does for the greater good.
11:36Blessed with extremely high levels of intelligence,
11:39Ozymandias is known as the smartest man
11:41in the world in his reality,
11:43and unfortunately, this one-time hero
11:45clearly allowed that title to go to his head.
11:48He orchestrates the death of millions
11:50in the name of bringing about peace on Earth.
11:52There might be some utilitarian-minded philosophers
11:55out there who would defend his actions,
11:57but anyone with a shred of humanity
12:00would agree that this not only makes him a villain,
12:03but one of the greats.
12:04Adrian, we know everything.
12:07Then what's there to discuss, Stan?
12:09Plenty.
12:11You killed Comedian.
12:12May he rest in peace.
12:14Number 17, Brainiac.
12:16When a hero is as powerful as the Man of Steel,
12:19their villains need to be similarly impressive.
12:21Thankfully, in Brainiac, Superman has found a foe
12:24worthy of decades' worth of high-stakes conflict.
12:28Not unlike the Watchmen anti-villain, Mr. Veidt,
12:30Brainiac is cold and calculating,
12:33his hyper-advanced intellect making him wholly detached
12:36from the wants and needs of the beings
12:38he sees as inferior to himself.
12:40He has a thirst for knowledge,
12:41and he satisfies it by collecting civilizations
12:44in the form of shrunken cities.
12:46And as for the rest of the planet,
12:48they usually get destroyed.
12:49Why?
12:50Because knowledge is power,
12:51and Brainiac isn't interested in sharing his.
12:55Number 16, Sinestro.
12:57Once upon a time, Thal Sinestro of Korrigar
13:00was considered the greatest Green Lantern
13:02to wear a power ring.
13:03The lack of criminal activity in his sector
13:05made him a hero and model to many,
13:07which is why he was charged with training new Lanterns,
13:10including rookie Hal Jordan.
13:12And then it was discovered that Sinestro
13:14uses remarkable willpower to keep the peace on Korrigar
13:17by authoritarian means.
13:19A trial and imprisonment followed,
13:21but from his disgrace, Sinestro was reborn,
13:24going on to found the Yellow Lanterns,
13:27who, in the place of will, derived their power from fear.
13:31He still seeks order and sees his actions
13:33as necessary for the greater good,
13:35but his methods are pure villainy.
13:38Number 15, Kingpin.
13:39The pages of Marvel and DC Comics
13:42aren't wanting for criminal masterminds.
13:44Get the chopper ready.
13:45I won't be long.
13:49But looking back over the history of the medium
13:51and even taking into account the likes of Black Mask
13:54and the Penguin, Kingpin stands out as the cream of the crop.
13:58He's left his mark on not just Daredevil,
14:00but Spider-Man and the Punisher as well.
14:03If it's crime and it's happening in New York City,
14:05you can bet that Kingpin is getting his cut.
14:08And if he isn't, well, his goons will be coming
14:11to collect anyways, plus interest.
14:13What he lacks in superpowers,
14:15this villain makes up with his mastery of the criminal arts.
14:18Kingpin can outplay the best of them,
14:20and he knows how to take a punch.
14:22Number 14, Doomsday.
14:25Elaborate schemes and devious plots?
14:28Who needs them when you're an unstoppable killing machine?
14:36Just select your target and keep attacking
14:38until he finally lies down and dies.
14:41No one would ever call Doomsday
14:42a well-rounded or deep character.
14:45He's just about the worst conversationalist in comics.
14:48But when this Kryptonian monster
14:49single-handedly trounced the Justice League,
14:52he demanded the attention of readers.
14:54And when he then proceeded to kill the Man of Steel,
14:57he cemented his place in comic book history.
14:59Doomsday is a simple creature
15:01designed to be the perfect hunter,
15:03nigh indestructible, full of rage,
15:05and existing purely to destroy.
15:07Doomsday is a monster through and through,
15:10and a villain without redemption.
15:12Number 13, Apocalypse.
15:14People often say that the X-Men play
15:16in their very own corner of the Marvel Universe.
15:18Sure, their adventures cross over
15:20with the more conventional Caped Crusaders,
15:22but they're more insular than most.
15:25And in the X-Men sphere,
15:26there are few villains more formidable
15:28than the ancient mutant Apocalypse.
15:30An Sabanur was born in ancient Egypt,
15:33where the nomadic tribesmen who raised him
15:35instilled him to believe in the survival of the fittest.
15:37Flash forward thousands of years
15:39and numerous generations later,
15:41and Apocalypse is still being driven by the same values.
15:44In the modern age, he views mutants as the superior race,
15:48and he does not hesitate to call those he deems inferior,
15:51i.e., homo sapiens.
15:53Asleep, trapped in darkness.
15:57I was not there for you, my son, but I am here now.
16:02Number 12, Loki.
16:03With his involvement in the MCU,
16:05there's no denying that Loki has risen
16:08to great heights.
16:09I said...
16:10No!
16:14And with his success,
16:15he's experienced a renewed popularity in the comics,
16:18getting far more love from the editors.
16:20Is he overrated?
16:21Well, his cinematic success has certainly skewed
16:24the perception of the general public.
16:25But considering his long and colorful comic book history,
16:28not to mention his villainous greatest hits,
16:31we feel he's earned his place here.
16:33The modern Marvel incarnation
16:35dates all the way back to 1962,
16:37and since then, this magical, shape-shifting god of mischief
16:40has more than done his title proud,
16:43even manipulating other villains to his own ends.
16:46In the comics, like in the movies,
16:47it was Loki's villainy that forced
16:49the Avengers to assemble.
16:51Number 11, Ra's al Ghul.
16:54Few villains commit acts of evil for evil's sake.
16:57Most find a way to rationalize their actions.
17:00But few villains are more resolutely confident
17:02in the good of their own actions than Ra's al Ghul is.
17:06An environmental terrorist and so much more,
17:08Ra's al Ghul is one of the few villains
17:11in Batman's rogues gallery
17:12whom the Caped Crusader truly respects.
17:15In many ways, they are equals in two sides of the same coin,
17:19fighting for what they each believe to be right,
17:21just from very different perspectives.
17:23In fact, Ra's has repeatedly tried
17:26to make Bruce his successor.
17:27With his deadly League of Assassins
17:29and the regenerative properties of the Lazarus Pit
17:31extending his life,
17:33this brilliant villain is as enduring as he is compelling.
17:37Number 10, Thanos.
17:38Considering his recent success on the big screen,
17:41this character requires little introduction.
17:43You should have gone for the head.
17:48No!
17:49And considering the massive space he currently occupies
17:52in the pop culture consciousness,
17:54some might be surprised
17:55that he didn't land higher on our list.
17:57But we're talking all time here.
18:00And so there's a lot of history to consider.
18:02And looking just at the comics,
18:04Thanos has indeed earned his spot.
18:06In the Infinity Gauntlet comic book event,
18:08Thanos similarly wipes out half of all life,
18:12but he didn't do it to save reality.
18:14He did it to impress the woman of his dreams,
18:16Mistress Death.
18:17Now, if that isn't villainy of epic proportions,
18:20we don't know what is.
18:22Number nine, Venom.
18:24Some of you will surely point out
18:25that Venom has evolved into an antihero over the years,
18:29if not an outright hero,
18:30depending on who's wearing the symbiote.
18:32But when he first debuted,
18:33Venom was a thoroughly villainous force,
18:35the likes of which Spider-Man had never faced before.
18:38He is physically formidable,
18:40shares some of Spidey's powers,
18:41and is absolutely terrifying to behold.
18:44And for anyone who feels that Venom lost his edge
18:47as an antiheroic lethal protector,
18:49the sheer brutality of Venom
18:51during Mac Gargan's time wearing the symbiote
18:53more than solidifies his villain status.
18:56Number eight, Bane.
18:57A muscle-bound man who uses super steroids
19:00and wears a luchador mask,
19:02taken at face value,
19:04Bane has henchmen written all over him.
19:06But in his very first story arc,
19:08the character quickly establishes himself
19:10as arguably the single greatest threat
19:12that Batman had ever faced.
19:15A cunning strategist, brutal combatant, and natural leader,
19:18Bane broke Batman,
19:20first psychologically by overwhelming him
19:22with criminal activity
19:23after orchestrating a mass breakout from Arkham,
19:26and then physically
19:28when he broke Batman's back.
19:29He also managed to figure out Batman's secret identity
19:32with little effort,
19:33demonstrating deductive reasoning
19:34rivaling that of Bruce Wayne's.
19:36Batman has mastered the fine art
19:39of beating the odds against overpowered villains,
19:41but Bane isn't just overpowered.
19:43He feels tailor-made to beat the Caped Crusader.
19:47Oh, you're funny!
19:50Number seven, Doctor Octopus.
19:52A character with a name, color scheme,
19:55and haircut like this guy
19:56should have zero chance of cracking the top 10
19:59on a list of the greatest supervillains of all time.
20:02But considering everything Doc Ock has working against him,
20:05that just makes his success and impact as a villain
20:08all the more impressive.
20:09The not-so-good doctor is a scientist
20:11blessed with staggering intellect
20:13and a deep knowledge of various fields.
20:16It was he who formed the Sinister Six,
20:18and he who beat Spider-Man so badly
20:20in their first encounter
20:22that our hero considered walking away from crime-fighting.
20:24He once nearly killed Black Cat,
20:27and then also managed to take over Peter's body.
20:29But for all his evil acts, like the best villains,
20:32he continues to captivate.
20:34We'll do it here.
20:36The power of the sun in the palm of my hand.
20:39Number six, Darkseid.
20:41We haven't seen much of him on the big screen,
20:44but Darkseid doesn't need to raise his profile.
20:47This villain has already earned his place
20:49in the pantheon of legendary comic book villains.
20:52For the uninitiated, however,
20:54easiest way to describe Darkseid
20:56is as the DC equivalent of Thanos.
20:58And for the record,
20:59Darkseid debuted a full two years earlier.
21:02Darkseid's thirst for power
21:04arguably outmatches all other villains in DC comics.
21:08He seeks to rule everything in existence.
21:10And unlike most characters
21:12with his caliber of powers and raw strength,
21:14he also has a mind to match.
21:17A godlike villain with an army at his back,
21:19Darkseid is the endgame for the Justice League.
21:22Number five, Lex Luthor.
21:24It's remarkable.
21:25Superman is a living god,
21:27and he has tangled with numerous
21:29similarly overpowered villains over the years.
21:31And yet his greatest foe remains a mortal man.
21:35Armed with nothing but his intelligence,
21:37business sense, political clout,
21:38and yes, on occasion, a wicked awesome war suit,
21:42Luthor proves that there's nothing more dangerous
21:45than a human with a grudge.
21:47Lex is a self-made man,
21:49and it's his personal mission to unmake Superman,
21:51which he's come close to doing on many occasions.
21:55Though heroes know his villain is hard,
21:57his philanthropic ways have earned him
21:59the trust of the masses,
22:00and this makes him twice as dangerous.
22:03Number four, Norman Osborn, Green Goblin.
22:06This entry is made up of both this character's
22:09civilian persona and their villain alter ego.
22:12Impressive!
22:18The reason?
22:19Because while it was the Green Goblin
22:21who originally cemented himself
22:23as Spider-Man's greatest foe,
22:24particularly after he killed Gwen Stacy,
22:27it's Norman Osborn who has more often
22:29plagued heroes in the years since.
22:31It's this historically duality
22:33that makes the character such a formidable villain.
22:36As Green Goblin, he is wild, violent,
22:38unpredictable, and more than a little unhinged.
22:41Norman Osborn, by contrast, is cold and calculating.
22:45In some ways, the two feel like the Joker
22:47and Lex Luthor wrapped into one.
22:49Over the years wielding his fortune and business acumen,
22:53he's also placed himself in various positions of power,
22:56with devastating results.
22:58Number three, Doctor Doom.
23:00There are few villains who inspire fear and respect
23:03like Victor Von Doom,
23:04though he is first and foremost
23:06the arch-nemesis of the Fantastic Four.
23:09The man in the iconic mask is a world-class villain.
23:12He rules Latveria with an iron fist,
23:14but his kingdom is allegedly freed from not only crime,
23:18but poverty and illness as well.
23:20He's a megalomaniac, sure,
23:22but he's not without honor
23:23and has even been known to play the hero
23:25under the right circumstances.
23:27Doom might suffer from the same alter-ego problems
23:29as many of his peers,
23:31but unlike most, this brilliant polymath
23:33actually lives up to his own lofty self-image.
23:36He also once reshaped reality as he saw fit.
23:40Number two, Magneto.
23:41There are those who will be sorely disappointed
23:44that the master of magnetism is second and not first,
23:47and for the record, it was an incredibly tight race.
23:50Hold it right there.
23:52Stay where you are.
23:53Put your hands over your heads.
23:54Now.
24:02Max Eisenhardt, also known as Eric Magnus Lyncher,
24:05knows firsthand the atrocities
24:07that humankind is capable of
24:09when driven by hatred and fear.
24:11He is a survivor of the Holocaust.
24:13In his zealousness to protect mutantkind
24:15from those who will harm them, however,
24:16his methods have seen him commit horrible acts of his own.
24:20Magneto refuses the nil.
24:21He is powerful both in terms of mutant abilities
24:24and as leader,
24:25and we never tire of the moral dilemmas
24:28he's presented over the decades.

24:46Number one, Joker.
24:48According to co-creator Jerry Robinson,
24:50the Joker was designed to be an enduring arch-nemesis
24:53for the Caped Crusader,
24:54a larger-than-life Moriarty
24:56to their costume Sherlock Holmes.
24:58Of course, the accounts of Joker's creation
25:01are as conflicting as his in-universe origin.
25:04Some claim he was supposed to die
25:06at the end of his introductory arc.
25:08Regardless, debuting in Batman number one,
25:10the Joker would grow and evolve
25:12into a massive pop culture icon.
25:14Unlike most villains,
25:16Joker's worth can't be measured in bodies,
25:18except maybe a Batman's sidekicks.
25:21He is chaos incarnate,
25:22an evildoer who defies convention
25:24by showing disinterest in power or money.
25:27He's undoubtedly a monster,
25:29but one whose thoroughly human perversions never get old.
25:34Ta-da!
25:35It's gone.
25:39Is there a fan-favorite villain we missed?
