00:00I am in the studio with...
00:02You have to introduce yourself.
00:04Oh wow, my name is Nihal. What's up guys, what's up?
00:06I don't know how to beatbox.
00:08Go for it yo, in 3, 2, 1.
00:12Okay. There she is.
00:14Hi.
00:16My name is Nihal, nice to meet you.
00:18Navya, nice to meet you.
00:20Ladies and gentlemen, today we have with us
00:22Navya Naveli Nanda who has
00:24started her own podcast.
00:26Congratulations. Thank you.
00:28You have every urge not to beatbox into this.
00:30Yeah, it's... I mean I had the urge to
00:32keep tapping the mic which is really annoying
00:34because when you're wearing the headphones it's like...
00:36But I'm feeling a beatbox collab right now.
00:38You can. Shall we? Shall we together?
00:40I don't know how to beatbox.
00:42Go for it yo, in 3, 2, 1.
00:46Okay.
00:48I'm just spitting in this mic.
00:50Not we, that was you. I was pretty fine.
00:52I wasn't ready. I would have polished my beatboxing
00:54if you told me. Yeah, I should have. Okay.
00:56So, what is the name of your show?
00:58So, the show is called What the Hell
01:00Navya. Hmm. Yes.
01:02Interesting name, I know. Yes. Amazing
01:04follow-up question. Why is it
01:06called that? Because I think
01:08that was something that my mom
01:10and my nani said at least 10 times
01:12in every episode because I'm a bit
01:14all over the place as a person
01:16and they felt the need to keep
01:18saying that to me. Okay.
01:20We just felt it was a great name
01:22for the show. So, you'd consider yourself
01:24a conversationalist?
01:26Yeah, but I don't know if I'm a good conversationalist.
01:28That's for you to decide. I think that's
01:30really cool because I'm terrible. Okay.
01:32I'm also quite bad. Hmm. But I actually
01:34host a show called Brute Sauce where I
01:36introduce celebrities and I do a terrible job
01:38at that. How is that big for you? It's really bad
01:40and I wanted some advice from you. Oh, okay.
01:42How do I keep the conversation going, right?
01:44Because sometimes I'll find myself in a lift
01:46with the celebrities and
01:48it is so awkward. Have you tried beatboxing?
01:50I hope that's a good icebreaker.
01:52That's my go-to when it's too quiet.
01:54I'll just start tap dancing out of nowhere.
01:56Or you can try beatboxing. I'll try beatboxing when it's quiet.
01:58But I don't know actually because I'm a very
02:00awkward person by nature.
02:02So, in social situations, I don't
02:04actually even know how to have small talks.
02:06I'm the worst person to ask advice
02:08on this particularly.
02:10For the people watching
02:12at home, right, we would love
02:14some advice from you on how to start a podcast.
02:16What would be some insight?
02:18Okay, number one, be a good conversationalist.
02:20So, I don't know if you should start a podcast.
02:22I'm joking.
02:24That was unnecessary.
02:26I'm joking. I think
02:28at least
02:30how we started off was we knew
02:32exactly what we wanted to talk about. I think that's a
02:34good starter because then you come in and you're just silent.
02:36So, it would be nice to know what you're
02:38going to talk about. So, we knew we
02:40wanted to be in the space of women
02:42and have conversations around women.
02:44I would say to choose really
02:46good hosts, people that you're comfortable with.
02:48And for me, obviously, I was really comfortable
02:50with my mom and my nani.
02:52So, that was nice. We had a great
02:54kind of dynamic together which is really important.
02:56So, I think they'll learn a lot
02:58if we were to do a mock podcast
03:00right now. Maybe a two-minute mock podcast.
03:02Am I the host or are you the host?
03:04How about I be the guest?
03:06I'll be the guest.
03:08Why don't you introduce me
03:10to your podcast? Oh my god, okay.
03:12Hi,
03:14everyone. Welcome to my podcast
03:16What The Hell, Navya. And today,
03:18I'm in the studio with...
03:20You have to introduce yourself.
03:22My name is Nav. What's up, guys?
03:24Happy to be here.
03:26And it's really nice to have you here today.
03:28So, I'd love to know
03:30kind of what you do.
03:32So, I run a business.
03:34I started a candy business
03:36actually. What is the name of the candy?
03:38It's called Jugal Chutney.
03:40That's the candy brand. And where can we buy
03:42your candy? It's available everywhere.
03:44DMart's near you.
03:46It focuses on sour candy.
03:48And we also have one chocolate bar.
03:50It's called the Jugal Bar.
03:52The reason why I started this is because
03:54I put my face as the
03:56gummy so that I can tell people that I'm a
03:58snack and no one can refute it.
04:00Commission statement with this brand.
04:02This is your first and last appearance on this show.
04:04Thank you for joining us on
04:06What The Hell, Navya today.
04:08So, I'm sure you're
04:10tired of answering this but
04:12why not take the
04:14film route? I think I'm just
04:16not very good at it to be honest.
04:18I don't believe
04:20that you should do something for the sake of doing it.
04:22I think you should do it, one, if
04:24you are 100% passionate about
04:26it. It's not something I'm passionate about.
04:28I think I'm doing exactly what I love doing.
04:30And two, I think
04:32I wouldn't be very good at it.
04:34I think my skill set lies
04:36elsewhere. And how many film
04:38offers have you received? None. I don't know.
04:40That's a lie. Come on.
04:42I'm sure some have come and you're like, nah, I'm good.
04:44I wish they'd know. None of them have come.
04:46Actually, it's surprising. Thank you so much for taking
04:48the time to do this interview. Thank you. And I will
04:50get out of your hair. Okay.
04:52You don't have to, but thanks.
04:54You can just freeze in the
04:56studio together. Alright then.
