Transcript
00:00So this is to the trollers that you guys are just faceless people.
00:03I think I was a bit cocky in 2017.
00:05I actually met someone at Cannes yesterday who had a tattoo of my name.
00:11Hi, I'm Isha Gupta and you're watching me on Proofed.
00:14We are rolling in three, two, one.
00:17Thank you, Isha, for talking to us.
00:19It's your debut at Cannes.
00:21How do you feel?
00:23Listen, it couldn't have been a better honor to be a part of the
00:26official government delegation of India representing India.
00:30And cinema and this great, great festival.
00:32I think, I mean, honestly, ever since I've become an actor, it's a dream come true.
00:37And finally that dream happened after 10 years of being in the industry.
00:40So thank you.
00:41You have a huge popularity in India.
00:43You have your own way of starting up trolls as well.
00:46I think it all started in 2017.
00:50How would you address your trolls?
00:53You know, at this point in time, is there to say something to them?
00:56Dear trolls, I'll be honest.
00:58I think I was a bit cocky in 2017 that I ended up replying to the trolls.
01:04And because, you know, I mean, it's like in India, we have this saying.
01:16I believe in, you know, a brick for a brick, an eye for an eye.
01:19So I feel at times like, you know, you need to troll them back.
01:22But now I think I've just become more calmer and peaceful to realize that
01:26they're just faceless people.
01:28So this is true, the trollers, that you guys are just faceless people.
01:31You know, the problem is whatever you say now, if you would have said it
01:3420 years back when technology wasn't there,
01:36face to face you would have been slapped.
01:38But now you can't be because you're on social media.
01:40So whenever you write something, it's your frustration, it's your anger.
01:44Just remember, we're all going through a lot of stuff in our life.
01:48You know, we all come from love.
01:49We all come from peace.
01:50So try and be nice.
01:58Wow.
02:05Wow, I don't know.
02:05I think Madhubala ji for any of our films, to be honest.
02:10And why?
02:12Listen, the kind of cinema that India had at that time,
02:15I know we still make those films, but it's still not that.
02:19The emotions are still not there.
02:20I'm not saying that we're not doing it,
02:22but it's just the love at that time just seemed so pure.
02:24The beauty was so pure.
02:25They didn't even have so much makeup like we do now.
02:28They didn't have any doctors to fix them.
02:30Let me just be honest.
02:32And they were still beautiful.
02:33The stories were amazing.
02:34I mean, I wish I could play what she did.
02:37What is the strangest, most interesting fan encounter you've had so far?
02:42Oh, I actually met someone at Cannes yesterday who had a tattoo of my name.
02:46I actually asked them, is it their girlfriend's name or sister's or mother's?
02:50Because I was like, it's impossible.
02:52And he took pictures and he was crying and I was in a rush.
02:55And it was actually Isha.
02:56I'm still hoping if you're out there.
02:57I really hope it's not a real tattoo if it's for me.
03:00And if it's for me, I really hope you find someone whose name is Isha.
03:03So it justifies the tattoo.
03:05And Isha, thank you so much.
03:06Thank you so much.
