00:10Rajasthan has been majorly hit by the outbreak of the disease.

00:1459,000 cows have died and more than 10 lakh bovines have been infected till now.

00:19Originally found in Africa, lumpy skin disease is a viral disease that affects cattle by

00:24direct contact with mosquitoes and lice and causes fever, nodules on the skin and can

00:29also lead to death.

00:30The first case was reported in Gujarat in April 2022.

00:34Since then, the disease has spread to eight states including Rajasthan and so far 75,000

00:40cows have died.

00:41Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Parshottam Rupala said goat pox

00:47vaccine is 100% effective against the disease.

00:50More than 10 million doses of the vaccine were administered till 15 September across

00:54the country.

00:55To do the outbreak, milk collection has gone down by 15-20% in Rajasthan.

01:00Taking note of the issue, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot demanded the Centre

01:04to declare the disease as a national calamity.

01:07On the other hand, the BJP held a massive protest in Jaipur on Tuesday demanding compensation

01:12for farmers and cattle-rearers who have lost their cattle to the disease.
