Mental and emotional stress in the workplace can take a heavy toll on individual employees. It also has a financial impact on companies. Investing in resources to tackle burnout can benefit employers and their staff.

00:00The mental health of workers is becoming a priority for a growing number of companies.
00:06Mindletic is a European project based in Lithuania, which aims to build resilience to stress,
00:11prevent work-related burnout and reduce the costs that this entails for businesses.
00:19Here's how its founder defines it.
00:23So Mindletic is a digital emotional intelligence team where people can train their emotional
00:28intelligence individually.
00:29On the company level we give data-driven insights from anonymous and aggregated data that is
00:36collected from their employees.
00:39Through data they can prevent and predict costs there related to burnout cases and unmanaged
00:45stress.
00:52Over 30% of Europeans say they suffer from work-related anxiety.
00:56In Vilnius, this startup works with Mindletic.
00:59During the pandemic, management realized that it's necessary to invest in mental health.
01:05Employees use the various functions of the platform to assess their energy levels, their
01:09emotions and meditate.
01:11And it pays off.
01:1495% are using the app.
01:19So I think more and more companies are understanding that having a good work-life balance, emotional
01:25balance, physical balance, it's like employees are more productive if they're happy.
01:30So it's better to invest in your existing employees than training new people to do the
01:37work you need to do in the company.
01:43When the company reaches out and your colleagues practice self-esteem, the group dynamic changes.
01:48That's what Galimantas, who works for another startup, tells us.
01:52For the past six months, he's been spending a few minutes a day developing his emotional
01:56intelligence and it's helping him.
02:01Whenever I'm doing these check-ins, whenever I'm going through the training that Mindletic
02:05presents for you freely, I'm able to understand myself better and react to situations like
02:12stress a bit more thoughtfully, I would say.
02:18Mindletic's total budget is 510,000 euros, some 47% of which comes from the EU's cohesion
02:25policy and almost 53% from Vilnius University and other private bodies.
02:31The project also involves around 30 special psychologists like Rokas.
02:36He believes that mental health and burnout should no longer be taboo subjects.
