00:00A man is taking Cardi B to trial over his back tattoo being photoshopped onto another man for
00:05her debut mixtape cover. The Grammy-winning rapper appeared in court this week to battle
00:09a $5 million lawsuit. Kevin Michael Brophy says his life as a married dad was disrupted
00:15after his identity was exploited in the sexually suggestive cover artwork. In 2016, a male model
00:20willingly posed for the original photo, but his back tattoo was replaced with a tattoo a digital
00:25artist found on the internet, which belongs to Brophy. Brophy said he considers his tattoo a
00:30core piece of his identity and quote, being a father of two and a devoted husband, he would
00:34never sign off on something like this. Cardi B claims the artist who photoshopped Brophy's tattoo
00:39onto the cover did so without her knowledge. Her lawyers pointed out that the model who posed for
00:43the photos was black, while Brophy is white. Brophy said he sent a cease and desist letter
00:47to Cardi B's representatives in 2017, but never received a response.
