00:00In a rare political showdown, Tennessee Republicans voted to oust two fellow
00:04representatives for protesting. My prayer to you is that even if you expel me, that you still act
00:11to address the crisis of mass shootings. Because if I'm expelled from here, I'll be back out there
00:17with the people every week demanding that you act. We've still got people who are calling on
00:23us to act and to do something to all you who still believe that the best days for democracy
00:29are ahead. For all of you who still believe that our better days in Tennessee are ahead,
00:35I want to tell you that I still believe with you. The Tennessee House, which has a GOP super
00:40majority, also held a vote to expel Rep. Gloria Johnson, a white woman, though she was able to
00:46narrowly keep her seat. And while this was happening inside the chamber, this is what
00:50it looked like outside. People continued to line the halls of the Capitol and call for action on
00:55gun violence.
