Here are some of the historic firsts and achievements from this year’s Oscar nominations.

00:03Everything Everywhere All At Once led with 11 nominations.
00:06The Banshees of Inisheeran and All Quiet on the Western Front tied for second with nine each.
00:10Rihanna and Lady Gaga are both nominated for Best Original Song,
00:13and Natu Natu made history as the first song from an Indian film to be nominated.
00:17Angela Bassett of Black Panther Wakanda Forever
00:19became the first actor to earn a nomination for an MCU role.
00:22Michelle Yeoh is the second Asian woman ever nominated for Best Actress
00:26for her role in Everything Everywhere All At Once,
00:28and her, K-Hui Kwan, Stephanie Hsu, and Hong Chao's nominations
00:31marked the most for Asian actors in a single year.
00:33No women were nominated for Best Director,
00:35a category in which only seven have been nominated and three women have ever won.
00:39This follows two consecutive years of women winning the category.
00:42All five nominees for Best Actor are first-time nominees.
00:44These include Austin Butler, Colin Farrell, Brendan Fraser, Paul Mescal, and Bill Nye.
00:49At the age of 90, John Williams is the oldest nominee for his musical score in The Fablemans,
00:53and the first ever nominee in their 90s.
00:55Jimmy Kimmel is set to host the 95th Academy Awards on March 12th.
