He could read me bedtime stories from now until forever.

00:00Austin Butler has firmly held on to Elvis Presley's signature Southern twang,
00:04and his voice coach says it could be a permanent thing. After starring in the
00:072022 biopic Elvis, fans noticed that he still sounded a lot like the King long after filming
00:12wrapped. I lived this for two years. I put the rest of my life on pause. So you can't help,
00:18but it becomes a part of your daily life, you know? So I definitely know my voice slips into
00:24it at times. In fact, many pointed it out during his acceptance speech at this year's Golden Globes.
00:29I feel sorry people are saying that it's still acting, but he's actually taken the voice on board,
00:33said his voice coach, Irene Bartlett. I don't know how long that will last,
00:36or if it's going to be there forever. Butler reportedly stayed in character 24-7 while
00:40filming Elvis, which Bartlett explained is making it difficult to switch off.
00:44Butler's ex of eight years, Vanessa Hudgens, also joined in on the conversation via Instagram.
00:48A fan posted a screenshot of an article about Butler's genuine Elvis accent being here to stay
00:53with the caption, he went to the Lady Gaga school of Oscar campaign acting. Hudgens response, crying.
