Costars of the 1968 film “Romeo and Juliet” are suing Paramount Pictures for sexually exploiting them during filming.

00:00The two stars of the 1968 Romeo and Juliet have filed a lawsuit against Paramount Pictures for
00:05sexual abuse pertaining to a nude scene they appeared in as teens. Leonard Whiting and
00:09Olivia Hussey claim that now-deceased director Franco Zeffirelli encouraged them to do nude
00:14scenes despite initially being told they wouldn't have to. Whiting and Hussey were 16 and 15
00:19respectively when Romeo and Juliet was being filmed. They claim they were told they'd be
00:23able to wear flesh-colored underwear during intimate scenes, but during the shoot, they
00:27were allegedly only given body makeup and told the camera would not capture any nudity.
00:31In the final film, Whiting's buttocks and Hussey's breasts are briefly shown.
00:35The two actors are seeking damages of more than $500 million.
