00:13that he actually wrote the screenplay for Pugh during the pandemic while the two were living
00:17together. I was thinking about all those things and it was the pandemic and it was time to write
00:22something and my own experience with with grief is what kind of bubbled up and that's what I wanted
00:28to write about it was just kind of there in front of me and it seemed like the logical thing. Pugh
00:32said it's no secret that she gravitates towards intense roles and has never picked a role unless
00:36she was scared of it. It's about studying it properly and making sure that you're not going
00:40to upset anyone that you take it seriously that you're making it for the right reasons and that
00:44is exactly what we did. Braff doubled down on Pugh's acting abilities saying quote it's like
00:48if you're with the most incredible violinist in the world and you're going to write him a piece
00:52you're not going to write something that's simple you're going to write something that is going to
00:56take all of them because you know that they can do it.
