पंचांग के अनुसार कृष्ण पक्ष और शुक्ल पक्ष की ग्यारहवीं तिथि को एकादशी कहा जाता है. मार्गशीर्ष महीने के कृष्ण में पड़ने वाली एकादशी को उत्पन्ना एकादशी कहते हैं. क्योंकि इस तिथि पर देवी एकादशी की उत्पत्ति हुई थी. इसलिए इसका नाम उत्पन्ना एकादशी पड़ा.इस साल उत्पन्ना एकादशी का व्रत 26 नवंबर 2024 को रखा जाएगा और 27 नवंबर को पारण किया जाएगा. वैसे तो हिंदू धर्म में साल में पड़ने वाली सभी एकादशी का खास धार्मिक महत्व होता है.
