00:00Seven nights of partying coming to an end.
00:05We're having such a good time partying it up in the mosh pit. Stay safe everybody.
00:10Authorities have kept a close watch.
00:13It's so safe. Red frogs everywhere. Cops everywhere. Yeah, it's good.
00:18They say for the most part these revellers have been responsible and respectful.
00:23A far cry from previous years.
00:26The schoolies of 15, 20 years ago when I used to come out here
00:29and it was just everyone drinking, fighting and carrying on like idiots, lunatics.
00:34We're not seeing any of that anymore.
00:36Of the 93 arrests made during the week, just one third were schooled leavers.
00:41A lot of that was public order offences,
00:44not the serious charges that we're used to seeing in years gone by.
00:48Ambulance crews treated 350 people.
00:52About 50 were taken to hospital.
00:55Alcohol consumption does appear to be down
00:57and again it was really good to see that everyone seemed to have a sober friend with them.
01:01In the first five days of the event,
01:0350 party goers presented to the free pill testing clinic with 24 drugs assessed.
01:09Paramedics say there were no overdoses.
01:12We're Catholic, we don't do drugs.
01:15Authorities are now preparing for an influx of interstate schoolies
01:19whose conduct may not be so exemplary.
01:22The last couple of years we have seen an increased workload
01:25in the precinct related to NSW and Victorian school leavers.
01:28But for these school leavers,
01:30celebrations can now focus on starting a whole new chapter of their lives.
