In a dramatic escalation, Russian President Vladimir Putin has issued his second warning to the U.S. and NATO in just 24 hours, announcing the readiness of Russia’s powerful Oreshnik hypersonic missile system. The missile, a game-changer in modern warfare, is poised to be deployed in combat as a key strategic asset in Russia’s arsenal. With no current means of interception by any nation, the Oreshnik missile's devastating power and precision could redefine the global military balance. This latest development signals growing tensions between Russia and the West, as fears of a wider conflict, potentially spiralling into World War III, intensify.

00:00Dear friends, colleagues,
00:08You know, yesterday I informed the personnel of the Russian Armed Forces,
00:16our allies around the world, as well as those who are trying to blackmail us with information about Russia's latest missile system.
00:26The medium-range missile system is our, your complex, which you called the nut, a ballistic missile with a non-nuclear hypersonic equipment.
00:40As we know from the analysis of the operational and objective control data, the tests were successful.
00:52I congratulate you on this.
00:56And, as has already been said, we will continue these tests, including in combat conditions, depending on the situation and the nature of the threat of security posed by Russia.
01:12Moreover, we have a stockpile of such products, a stockpile of such systems ready for use.
01:22I asked you to organise our meeting today with the sole purpose of thanking you and saying thank you for the results of your work.
01:36You and all the developers of the Nut System, all the scientific, production and labor teams involved in its creation, I mean, and all the cooperation.
01:50And these are, as we know, designers, scientists, engineers, workers who developed hypersonic technologies and designed ballistics,
02:02mastered the production of the latest materials, the control system, microelectronics and so on and so forth.
02:09The achieved results and the speed of the development of the new system really arouse pride and admiration.
02:20It convincingly demonstrates that the Russian School of Missile Design has enormous potential and is capable of solving the most difficult tasks to ensure the security and sovereignty of Russia.
02:34In this regard, I would like to stress that the Nut System is not a modernisation of the old Soviet systems.
02:42Of course, we all came out of different systems of the Soviet Union.
02:47We were all brought up on what was done by previous generations and to a certain extent used their results.
02:57But this system is really, first of all, the result of your work, which was done in Russia at the time, in the conditions of a new Russia.
03:19It was created on the basis of modern, latest developments.
03:25And I must say that in today's conditions, when we face new, increasing threats and challenges, the work on such systems of arms is of particular,
03:37if I may say so, vitally important significance for our country.
03:42Once again, I would like to stress that the future of Russia depends, first and foremost, on our soldiers and officers,
03:53on the courage of the stormtroopers, artillerymen, tankmen and paratroopers, sappers, pilots, operators, unmanned aerial vehicles and naval paratroopers.
04:03All branches of the army work in harmony.
04:07Our units in the line of combat successfully, competently, courageously and professionally operate today.
04:15Every day they accumulate combat experience and increase their offensive potential.
04:20I repeat, it is from the professionalism, courage and heroism of our soldiers and officers, first and foremost, that the execution of all tasks within the framework of a special military operation depends.
04:33But at the same time, it is very important that both the front-line troops and our citizens in general know that we have a colossal technological base, a strong industrial and scientific background to protect our security.
04:50And the system of arms that was tested yesterday is another reliable guarantor of territorial integrity and sovereignty of Russia.
05:00As you know, there is no such weapon in the world yet. Yes, sooner or later it will appear in other leading countries.
05:12We know what developments are underway there, but it will be tomorrow or in a year or two.
05:20And we have this system today, and this is important.
05:28I would like to emphasize one more aspect.
05:32The Oreshnik missile system is not just an effective hypersonic weapon.
05:36Due to its impact power, especially when used in a group, and in combination with other high-precision long-range systems that Russia also has,
05:47the results of its use on enemy objects will be comparable in effect, in their power, to strategic-purpose weapons.
05:57Although, in fact, the Oreshnik missile system is not a strategic weapon.
06:03In any case, it is not an intercontinental ballistic missile, it is not a means of mass destruction, including because it is also a high-precision weapon.
06:19At the same time, as I have already noted, I would like to add that there is no such missile in the world today.
06:28And I would like to stress once again that we will continue to test the latest systems.
06:35It is necessary to establish mass production.
06:39We will consider that the decision on mass production of this system has been made.
06:45In fact, it is practically organized.
06:49I mean the special power and strength of this weapon.
06:54It will be deployed in the strategic-purpose missile forces.
06:59What is also important is that, in addition to the Oreshnik system, several similar systems are currently in operation in Russia for further testing.
07:09As a result of the tests, this weapon will also go to Syria.
07:13That is, we have a whole range of medium and low-priced systems.
07:20Today's military-political situation in the world is largely determined by the results of competition in the field of the creation of new technologies,
07:27weapons systems and economic development.
07:30But, as I have said more than once, the decisive value, of course, belongs to the people, to the courage of those who are fighting at the front,
07:38to the talent and perseverance of those who work at the plants and in the KGB, in research centres, in enterprises, in all areas of the economy.
07:46And, of course, we are proud of such people.
07:50With such people, of course, all the tasks, as I said, will be solved.
07:57And, in general, the security of Russia will be reliably ensured.
08:02Once again, I would like to thank you and your colleagues for the intense, important and productive work, for the high results achieved,
08:11for the contribution to the strengthening of the security and defense capabilities of our people, for the protection of our Motherland in the broadest sense of the word.
08:23I would like to say that the creators of the Oreshnik missile system, those who designed and organised the production of the latest complex,
08:31will certainly be presented with a state award.
