00:27I've had hurdles myself to leap over,
00:30like losing my dad and looking to start my career
00:33all while juggling my mom's health.
00:36My source stepped in the gap for me
00:38in a huge way during this fragile time,
00:41giving me love, support, and guidance,
00:44helping me to push through those adversities.
00:46So how do you harness your own power amid adversity?
00:53I was talking to Tamron Hall today,
00:56and she said, you march to the beat of your own drum.
01:00How does that feel sometimes?
01:02And sometimes it's, like, right early on in my career,
01:09I was always slightly odd, slightly to the left,
01:10a little bit different to most people.
01:12And it can be really scary,
01:14because when no one else is like you,
01:17you feel like you might be the one making the mistake,
01:19but actually, when it feels true,
01:22you can't do anything other than that.
01:25And so, through adversity,
01:29I think I've just had a bit of staying power.
01:32I've had to be a bit brave just to keep going forward.
01:38My stylist, Jason Bolden, who's like a big brother,
01:41says put blinders on, keep your blinders on,
01:43look at your own path, keep moving forward,
01:46because if you start looking left and right,
01:48you might get distracted and you miss a step.
01:50So when it gets tough, when it gets hard,
01:54for me, I have to really focus
01:57on the thing that is in front of me,
01:59on the thing that I have to move towards.
02:02And then I'm lucky enough
02:05to have really good people around me
02:06who will just get back up,
02:10just who are always there for me when I need them.
02:16I have really good people around me, really good friends,
02:18who just don't go anywhere,
02:21even when I want them to, they won't listen.

02:27It's a combination of a little bit of determination,
02:30stubbornness, because I'm a Capricorn.
