01:01strikes earlier this week using U.S. and British weaponry.
01:26In his nightly video address, Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky slammed Russia's use of
01:31the Oreshnik, saying Putin was using Ukraine as a training ground.
01:56Earlier this week, U.S. President Joe Biden gave Ukraine authorization to use U.S.-supplied
02:02longer-range missiles to strike military targets deeper inside Russia.

02:12And a day after that, Ukraine used up to 12 British-French-made Storm Shadow missiles
02:17for strikes into Russia's Kursk region.

02:35Russian President Vladimir Putin has gifted North Korea with over 70 species of zoo animals.

03:09Northern and central Gaza saw a wave of massive Israeli attacks on Wednesday night, continuing
03:15through Thursday morning.
03:17At least 66 people were killed and over 100 injured in Beit Lahiya in the north, and another

04:22Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez on Thursday welcomed Palestinian Prime Minister Mohamed
04:27Mustafa to Madrid in what was their first intergovernmental meeting.

04:36The visit of the Palestinian Prime Minister to Spain has helped to strengthen ties between
04:40both countries.
04:42On Thursday morning, various cooperation agreements were signed in different areas.
04:47According to experts consulted by Euronews, the visit of the Palestinian Prime Minister
04:51is within the institutional and diplomatic normality after the recognition of the Palestinian
04:57state by the government of Pedro Sanchez.
05:00It is within the logic of the international agenda of the president of the government.
05:04Given the international geopolitical situation, it is a meeting that has a lot of relevance,
05:09not only for Palestine, but also for Spain and for the positioning of our country.
05:14In international policy decisions, you have to have a lot of head, you have to be very
05:18careful and be prudent.
05:20And above all, be on the side of the people and the countries that defend democracies
05:25and that defend the rule of law.
05:27Spain's recognition of the Palestinian state has drawn strong criticism from the Israeli
05:32government.
05:38Germany's defense minister Boris Pistorius has said he won't run for chancellor in February
05:43snap elections.
05:45In a video posted to SDP social media channels, Pistorius said he's not available and would
05:51instead support Olaf Scholz's re-election bid.
05:54Pistorius, currently polling as Germany's most popular politician, said his decision
05:59not to run against Scholz was sovereign and entirely personal.
06:03Scholz called a snap election after the collapse of the coalition in early November.
06:08That came after Scholz fired the then finance minister Christian Lindner.

06:40chancellor next week.
06:42But according to current opinion polls, support for the Social Democratic Party is low.

06:53polling at 33%, with the SPD trailing behind at 14%, level with the Greens.
07:04One of the EU's main fears with the re-election of Donald Trump in the United States is a
07:09return to a moment of trade instability.
07:12Protectionism or increased tariffs on European products are among the bloc's fears.
07:18The EU says it is willing to work with Washington.
07:21At Thursday's meeting of trade ministers in Brussels, the bloc sought to show unity.
07:39The United States is one of the EU's largest trading partners.
07:43In 2021, transatlantic trade reached an all-time high of 1.2 trillion euros.
07:51We are having a positive attitude towards the United States.
07:56We both benefit from trade and the transatlantic relationship is very important for the EU
08:04and also for the US.
08:06During the campaign, Trump promised to impose 10% tariffs on EU exports and threatened that
08:12the bloc would have to pay a big price if it did not buy US goods.
08:22Heavy snowfall caused by an unexpected onset of winter has led to traffic complications
08:27across Europe.
08:28In parts of Germany and France, the snow pushed drivers and public transport to their limits
08:33in some places.
08:35The German city of Solingen was particularly affected.
08:39Traffic is having difficulty navigating through the thick snow, as the winter road clearance
08:44service is not regularly active yet at night.
08:48Air traffic at the Cologne Bonn airport was also disrupted as runways needed to be cleared.
08:54Passengers were told to expect more disruptions in the coming days if the wintry conditions persist.
09:04Former Florida Congressman Matt Gaetz has withdrawn as President-elect Donald Trump's
09:09pick for Attorney General.
09:11It comes amid continued scrutiny over a federal sex trafficking investigation that cast doubt
09:16on his ability to be America's chief law enforcement officer.
09:20In a statement, Gaetz said his confirmation was becoming a distraction to the critical
09:25work of the Trump-Vance transition.
09:27The announcement comes days after an attorney for two women said that his clients told House
09:32Ethics Committee investigators that Gaetz paid them for sex on multiple occasions.
09:37One of the women testified she saw Gaetz having sex with a 17-year-old at a party in Florida
09:42in 2017.
09:45The attorney said his client testified she didn't think Gaetz knew the girl was underage
09:49and stopped the relationship when he found out.
09:52Gaetz has denied any wrongdoing and said that the investigation into sex trafficking allegations
09:57had ended with no federal charges against him.
10:00In a social media post, Donald Trump said Matt has a wonderful future and I look forward
10:05to watching all the great things he will do.
10:08Trump has nominated former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi as his replacement pick.
10:14Have you talked to him before?
10:19A volcano on the southwestern Reykjanes Peninsula erupted again late on Wednesday night, the
10:25seventh such eruption in a year.
10:28Officials say the latest eruption is considerably smaller than the previous one in August and
10:33indicates that volcanic activity in the area has reached its peak.
10:38The repeated volcanic eruptions close to the town of Grindervik have damaged infrastructure
10:43and property and forced many residents to evacuate.
10:47Authorities say the town isn't threatened further by this latest eruption, but it remains
10:52mostly deserted following evacuation orders issued in December last year.
10:57Iceland's main international airport, Keflavik, said in a statement on its website that flights
11:02were unaffected and no critical infrastructure was at risk.
11:07But the Blue Lagoon geothermal spa, one of Iceland's most popular tourist destinations,
11:12shut down and evacuated its guests.
11:15Iceland lies on the fault line between the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates
11:20and is a hotspot for seismic activity.
11:23The volcano on the Reykjanes Peninsula had been dormant for around 800 years before the
11:28geological system sprang back into life in 2021.
11:33Eruptions in the area have since been more and more frequent, with the latest volcanic
11:38activity being the sixth this year alone.
11:42Thank you for watching!
