00:17We're covering the new pop culture TikTok legend, Chipshop Girl,
00:20a nickname given to TikToker DestXO,
00:23who began advertising this place called Merchant's Fish Bar in the UK on TikTok.

00:33Starting this sort of video in September of 2024,
00:35this year, Chipshop Diva has begun interacting with customers ordering fish and chips.

00:40We're talking good old-fashioned chips.

00:44Over the last few months, these videos became very popular,
00:47inspiring plenty of fancams, tons of memes, remixes,
00:49and content centered around the great Chipshop Diva.
00:51Let's take a look at the full timeline here,
00:53because honestly, I'm getting hungry.
00:54Chipshop Girl, or Dest.XO rather,
00:57started posting months before this fishy fad became commonplace on her page.
01:00On June 6th, 2024, her first TikTok was posted,
01:03which was a simple lip dub that surprisingly garnered 1.3 million views within months.
01:07She posted more of these, capitalizing on the success of the first one,
01:09with a total of four additional videos garnering millions of views each.
01:12The views on these were likely increased because of the success of the later
01:15world-renowned Merchant's Fish Bar TikToks,
01:17so let's get to the real fish meat here.

01:20featuring the Chipshop Diva herself grabbing some fish and chips for this happy bloke.
01:24I really like this original one because it's genuinely Fallout New Vegas levels of dialogue.
01:28Pretty sure you could just put some Fallout New Vegas music and UI over this.
01:30I feel like we could use a bit of a writing upgrade for the next season of Chipshop Diva,
01:34but this was just the humble beginnings.
01:35The office, or Seinfeld, didn't truly hit their strides until Season 2 or 3.
01:38So let's continue.
01:39The first video was posted on September 11th,
01:41but between then and November 14th, just a couple months later,
01:44the account would post 12 more videos featuring Chipshop Diva.
01:47It was a success, with a big one being posted on October 4th, garnering 25 million views.
01:51It really is kind of wholesome, honestly.
01:53It's just the most simple dialogue ever.
01:54There's no frills, there's no bullcrap.

01:57And he goes, yeah, sure.
01:58There's a climax to this video, though.

02:24Well, not too much is known, but she has over 160,000 followers on her personal TikTok account,
02:29and everyone seems to love her wholesome vibes.
02:31She's inspired TikToks, memes, musical remixes, and even edits,
02:34like this one from self-aware c**t with the caption, obsessed with this diva.
