00:00No farmers, no food!
00:05We've seen farmers today coming from all over the countryside to London,
00:10they're coming onto the overground, they're wearing their tweed caps,
00:13their typical green barber jackets, Wellington gumboots.
00:17The farmers are saying that this budget is having a devastating impact
00:21on the next generation of farmers.
00:23I've got my two kids here and my friends brought their children down
00:27as a stand, we'd have to sell a quarter of the farm to pay the tax on this stupid idea.
00:32So as a sign we've made up this, this one here, the fifth generation,
00:38so it's 1906 we started farming.
00:40A lot of people that we spoke to didn't seem confident that their
00:44protest today was going to amount to much,
00:46but they wanted to come here and show that they weren't happy.
00:49We should value our farmers, we don't value them enough.
00:52I don't think it'll end here.
00:54At the end of the day you need a meal three times a day and who puts that on your plate?
00:58Farmers are the ones that are in the fields, working late at night, early morning,
01:02don't bite the hand that feeds you, it's very important.
