00:00you
00:30So it's in the first instance that there's going to be this new motion to dismiss on
00:51the grounds that Trump is now the president-elect and also that the district attorney is signaling
00:58that they don't think the case should proceed to sentencing while that motion is even on
01:04appeal.
01:06So they want a stay or they're indicating that they'll consent to a stay of the sentencing
01:11while the motion is briefed and then decided by the trial judge.
01:15But also they're signaling that they are open to a stay of the proceedings while the court's
01:21decision on that and other motions is taken up through the appeals process, including
01:28possibly up to the United States Supreme Court.
01:31Thank you very much, everybody.
01:37This is a case where if they can do this to me, they can do this to anyone.
01:56These are bad people from Africa, from Asia, from the Middle East, and they're coming in
02:02from jails and prisons.
02:04We need to see how Judge Marchand responds to today's filing.
02:09I mean, it is important to bear in mind that although the district attorney's office is
02:13indicating that it is willing to stay the proceedings pending the court's resolution
02:19of this now new motion based on immunity, the court could decide to proceed and issue
02:25the opinion that he had probably already written with respect to the other immunity question.
02:31So the judge does have some discretion here to move things forward.
02:35It's unlikely that he would do so, particularly that he would proceed to sentencing if the
02:40district attorney's office is consenting to an adjournment.
02:44But I am waiting to see how Judge Marchand reacts because he doesn't have to follow the
02:50lead of the district attorney here.
03:01While this defendant may be unlike any other in American history.
03:30We arrived at this trial and ultimately today at this verdict in the same manner as every
03:36other case that comes through the courtroom doors by following the facts and the law and
03:43doing so without fear or favor.
