Sir Keir Starmer urged Vladimir Putin to "get out of Ukraine" as he addressed the G20 summit in Rio, Brazil, on Tuesday. It comes as Mr Starmer has refused to comment on whether Britain will allow Ukraine to fire Storm Shadow missiles into Russia following reports that Joe Biden is on the verge of giving the green light for the British-made weapons to be used.

00:00I'm here at the G20 with one purpose, and that is to deliver for the British people.
00:07As a country, we're facing outward to the world once again,
00:12reviving the international influence that was neglected for years.
00:17We're building partnerships and using them to deliver on the things that matter at home.
00:23Investment, growth and security.
00:27Because we can only make lives better for working people
00:32if we're prepared to shape the global problems that are reaching into our lives more and more.
00:38The G20 represents 85% of global GDP.
00:45So we have a shared interest here in driving up growth and investment,
00:51and a profound responsibility to find solutions for the problems facing the world today.
00:59Climate change, poverty and hunger.
01:03And we made real progress.
01:06I was pleased to back President Lula's Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty
01:12to end the years of stagnation in the fight against poverty.
01:16Because this is also an investment in stability
01:21and in tackling the factors that force people to leave their homes
01:26and make the long journeys that can end with criminal gangs exploiting them
01:32and putting their lives at risk in the English Channel.
01:35We are launching our Global Clean Power Alliance,
01:40together with Brazil and other partners,
01:43to accelerate the clean energy transition.
01:46To cut energy bills, boost energy security and reduce emissions around the world.
01:53For the third year running, Putin did not attend this summit.
01:58He is the author of his own exile.
02:01And on day 1,000 of Russia's illegal war in Ukraine,
02:07I say again, end the war, get out of Ukraine.
02:12And in this moment, when global challenges are affecting us at home,
02:17I take the view more than ever that British leadership matters.
02:23So for the sake of our economic growth and our national security,
02:27we will keep stepping up on the international stage,
02:30delivering results as we have done here at the G20,
02:34and making our presence felt.
