00:00Hey John, a really good game tonight in Milwaukee inside the
00:08Pfizer Forum. It's a top 15 tilt between Marquette who is 15th
00:13in the country after a good win on Friday against Purdue's
00:16fellow Big Ten team in Maryland and Purdue up seven spots to
00:21number six in the country after winning outright as a home
00:24underdog against Alabama in Mackey on Friday night as well.
00:29Love having you here early in the season. Not so much to
00:31break down the game, but really what we're going to learn about
00:34both teams in this marquee matchup. Let's start with the
00:37Boilermakers, a road dog in Milwaukee. But John, of course,
00:41after losing Zach Eaddy, what do college basketball fans need to
00:45know about this year's version of the Boilermakers?
00:47The three returning starters for Purdue from last year's team
00:51that lost in the national title game to UConn, Brayden Smith,
00:53Flesher Lawyer and Trey Kaufman-Wren are the epicenter of
00:57this team. That's the Boilers' big three. Brayden Smith right
01:00now is playing like one of the best four or five guards in all
01:04of college basketball. He's filling the box score, dishing,
01:06rebounding, scoring, and Trey Kaufman-Wren is giving Purdue a
01:10different look as an interior focal point. 26-8 against
01:15Alabama last week at Mackey Arena. And you know, one thing I
01:20want to point out, I was out of Purdue practice two years ago,
01:23and Matt Painter told me Trey Kaufman-Wren has all Big Ten
01:27first team ability. We might just not see that for a couple
01:30years because he's playing next to somebody up front named Zach
01:34Eaddy. Trey Kaufman-Wren has the goods and I firmly think that
01:37Purdue found a lineup down the stretch of the game last week
01:42when Trey Kaufman-Wren slid to the five and Cam Heide played
01:45the four. Better spacing for Purdue on offense.
