00:00A lot of residents in Quezon City came out as a warning against the typhoon Pepito and some of them will not go home until the storm is released by the PAR.
00:10And live from Quezon City, we have the first news, Kea Tidlang.
00:14Kea?
00:18Ivan, even though the time here in Quezon City is calm now,
00:22almost 2,000 residents are still staying in the 3 evacuation centers that we are surrounding.
00:29They have already learned from the typhoon.
00:36Henny learned from the experience of the typhoon last July.
00:40That's why now that there's a typhoon Pepito, they don't hesitate to evacuate.
00:45Because whenever there's a typhoon, I always get nervous.
00:49Because I already experienced it.
00:51Before, I didn't evacuate.
00:55That typhoon, I already had a phobia because the water reached here.
01:01Marilu's mother's family did not wait for the rain to stop and the flood to rise before they evacuated.
01:08We said that there's no flood yet, but we are still following the news.
01:12Because we might reach a point where we won't be able to listen to the news.
01:18We were drowned, there were a lot of small children.
01:22That's why we immediately evacuated.
01:24Some of the people who were with them in the evacuation centers
01:27said that they will not go home until the typhoon is safe and the typhoon is gone.
01:32Now, the typhoon is coming one after another.
01:34The news is very alarming.
01:38We will just wait for the update from the QCDRRMO
01:43if the evacuation centers are allowed to leave, if they can go home.
01:47In Barangay Bagong Silangan, 154 families of 558 individuals spent the night in the evacuation center.
01:55In Barangay Del Monte, we met some residents who evacuated to San Francisco Elementary School
02:01and were allowed to go home.
02:03Even though there was no wind or rain, we evacuated.
02:09Now that the typhoon is gone, we can go home.
02:13Some of the more than 1,000 evacuees arrived here,
02:16not all of them have a modular tent to sleep in.
02:19They said that the width of the tent was too narrow.
02:23It didn't fit.
02:24What they did was they tied it with a pin.
02:26That's why it's not enough.
02:28We are still trying to get permission from the QCLGU.
02:32Ivan, some of the people we talked to planned to go home this morning.
02:41But their faces still show the fear of the next typhoon coming to the country.
02:47So if a new typhoon comes, they will not hesitate to evacuate again.
02:53That's the first news from Quezon City.
02:55Bea Pinlac for GMA Integrated News.
