00:00The Kuala Lumpur Road Transport Department seized a total of 73 motorcycles for extreme illegal modifications during an operation conducted on Friday and Saturday in the city.
00:12The department said they inspected 4,545 vehicles and issued 1,353 summonses for various offences.
00:22Among the offences were illegal motorcycle modifications such as altered chassis affecting stability and safety, non-compliant loud exhaust pipes, small-sized tyres and illegal number plates.
00:35They also found motorcyclists to have violated regulations such as riding their vehicles without a licence, expired road tax and the absence of insurance for their vehicles.
00:46The offences were framed under the Road Transport Act. Authorities also detained 19 undocumented foreigners from Indonesia, Bangladesh and India.
00:56The operation was conducted with the cooperation from the city police, the National Anti-Drug Agency and the Immigration Department.
