05:03It's about doing Shakespeare and doing it on Broadway, which is kind of cool.

05:14which is a really fascinating book about the making of Richard Burton and John Gielgud's Hamlet.

05:24And it's kind of just filled with stories about Gielgud and Laurence Olivier and Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor.

05:33What has been the rudest awakening or biggest surprise about performing on stage versus performing on screen?
05:41I think I was surprised about how much I missed it.
05:44I grew up on stage.
05:46I've been acting on stage since I'm 12 years old, and I haven't done it in six years.
05:51I was 17 the last time I was on stage.
05:53It was my senior year musical, Shrek, and it was so much fun.
05:58And I also didn't realize that it was just kind of like riding a bike and getting back into it.
06:02It didn't feel like I was dropped off a cliff or anything like that.
06:05It really felt like I was coming home.
06:07They're different muscles.
06:08They are different muscles, but it didn't feel sore the next day after flexing it.

06:55Yeah, it is technically a theater superstition to ward off any bad juju.

07:33Oh God, that is quite tricky.

07:59And she started crying at the thought of saying that line on the last night,

09:39I auditioned for Broadway for so many years
09:42before getting West Side Story, the movie.
09:45And nobody wanted me.
09:46So I actually don't think I'm a good person to ask.
09:49I missed the section of auditioning for Snow White that was with music.
09:53I was only asked to audition after.
09:55And then when I did, it was a song that they had written for the movie.
09:58I think the first audition song I ever used

11:21that she's a child
11:22and all of the things that shouldn't be happening
11:25to a child that are in this play or in the world

11:36Maria in West Side Story as well.
11:37I just felt such deep empathy for her situation.

11:45Her sister-in-law doesn't want to associate with her anymore.
11:49Her boyfriend's gone.

11:52It's just so, oh, it's so horrible, so.
