00:00the more I have sort of ruminated on this,
00:03the less I liked it.
00:05And my first reaction was kind of like,
00:07all right, you can do your due diligence.
00:08And if, you know, on some of the outskirts
00:11of the reporting that Albert did,
00:12you're talking about like, well, you know,
00:14you bring in someone who kind of like
00:16knows the college game a little bit better
00:19and maybe can sort of tailor some things to him.
00:20And that doesn't necessarily have to be
00:22the offensive coordinator, right?
00:23That could be something to come in to
00:24sort of compliment the offensive coordinator
00:26and say, hey, look, all right, you've done it
00:28for this way for a long time,
00:30but let's make some modifications
00:31or let's put this package in
00:33because this is something he did really well
00:34at North Carolina and we should try to carry that over.
00:37And then the more I thought about it,
00:38I'm like, well, wait a minute.
00:41You sat him to begin the year,
00:43you brought him in maybe a little earlier
00:45than some of us thought you should have.
00:46Other people were like, you should have started
00:47from week one, but he's given you consistent,
00:52well, he's given you good play, periods of good play.
00:54That doesn't perfect from start to finish,
00:56but you feel like from week in, week out,
00:58you see some things that he's doing.
01:00He did that better this week than he did last week.
01:03And he did that better than he did last week.
01:04And okay, maybe he took a step back here
01:06with some turnover worthy plays,
01:08but like by and large, it's going in the right direction.
01:12And why would you screw with that?
01:14Like, I know that the most recent example
01:17is with Josh Allen, right?
01:19They brought in Rick Dennison.
01:20Dennison was, as I think Breyer called him,
01:22the OG of the Mike Shanahan system.
01:24And he got there.
01:25Rick Dennison was on like his third stop
01:28post Shanahan and every stop failed.
01:32So he gets to Buffalo and it fails
01:34because he's trying to take this buck,
01:36this wild buck in Allen and try to kind of
01:39condense him into this form.
01:40And I think what you've seen here with Alex
01:43is there have been some wrinkles.
01:44There have been some different things that they've done
01:46that don't necessarily fit his quote unquote system,
01:49that he's been willing to open it up a little bit
01:52to sort of cater to some of Drake's strengths.
01:55And I think that's, I think you saw it even
01:57in the game on Sunday, like a little bit more play action
01:59because your outside zone stuff was working.
02:01And it was just like, oh, that's the vision for the offense.
02:04And you got this mobile quarterback with a big arm.
02:06Like, I can see where you want to go with this.
02:08So the more I thought about it, the more I just liked it.
02:12And to me, you start getting on that cycle
02:14where you're changing out offensive coordinators
02:16every freaking year.
