AN incredible lowrider, owned by a car enthusiast Sol Archer, grabs everyone’s attention for its unique colour patterns. The car was a father and son build – Sol Archer, from Ipswich, UK, inherited a Honda Civic EF from his dad Pete Blackhurst. Pete told FutureStudiosCars: “Sol’s role in the design was to build something that he could potentially drive - small, inexpensive. Sol’s colour-blind, so it was never about picking a colour switch, it was about making it pop, making it stand out - loads of different colours, loads of patterns, loads of lines." He added: “You could be driving it to the shops, into town, or you could be at a show like this. It always turns heads because of what it looks like. But then as soon as you start playing with the switches, I think it baffles people more than anything else.”

00:00I don't know many other children with real cars. It's incredible.
00:15Ipswich in the UK. Not the first location that springs to mind when you think of low
00:23riders. But this isn't your average low rider and
00:28Sol isn't your average owner. I'm Sol Archer and this is my low rider Honda
00:36Civic EF. Sol's love of low riders was inherited from
00:43his dad, Peter. The attraction of low riders is just being
00:47different. To bounce around in a display, that's what
00:50the draw is for me anyway. And this Honda was a father and son build.
00:55Sol's role in the design was build something that he could potentially drive, so small
01:01and inexpensive. Sol's colour blind so it was never about picking a colour as such,
01:06it was about making it pop, making it stand out.
01:10And it certainly does that. Today's event is the Ipswich Festival of
01:17It's an all-encompassing car show. You can be driving it to the shops into town
01:33or you can be at a show like this. It always turns heads because of what it looks like.
01:38As soon as you start playing with the switches, I think it baffles people more than anything
01:42else. For Sol, being the only kid at the show with
01:46his own vehicle is pretty special. I don't know many other children with real
01:52cars and I think I'm lucky. It's not just somebody's kid at a show, it
01:58feels like he's part of everybody else, apart from not being able to drive it. Everybody
02:03else is driving around in cars and this is so-and-so's car and that's so-and-so's
02:07car, now he's got that car for himself. Half of them don't believe me.
02:12Well it is hard to believe isn't it really? But they'll believe it when they see you driving
02:17it, that's the answer. My dad will usually drive it up to a show
02:24and we will take out the switch box and start playing with it until it breaks.
02:31The basic ones are front, back, side to side, the seat saw.
02:38You turn them off, the car's totally rigid, no shocks, no springs, so it's good for fast
02:44moves. Then if you want to drive it, turn those accumulators on and it's like an in-line
02:48shock absorber. You could always add a little bit of power
03:01to it. I wouldn't argue that Soul just gave me the
03:02opportunity because I wanted to build something for somebody else. But seeing him stood in
03:08front of a crowd of people with that switch box and smashing it around, I get flashbacks
03:12of me being that kid who was new to low-riding, smashing a car about in front of all these
03:18old-timers, it's great. So Soul, what's it like owning a unique custom
03:26car, six years before you're legally able to drive?
03:30Incredible.
