00:00Now, a focus on college. First college basketball, huge Friday
00:10night slate. Listen, we've been in the college basketball
00:13season for just about a week and a half. This, in my opinion,
00:16the best single night we have seen up and down the docket. So
00:20many good games. Top 15 tilt, Alabama and Purdue. Two and a
00:25half point spread in favor of the Crimson Tide. Another top
00:2825 showdown. Ohio State has looked great in each of its
00:32first two games this year. Already a victory over a ranked
00:36team from the Lone Star State in Texas. That was on the opening
00:40night in Las Vegas. A&M bouncing back five and a half point home
00:43favorite. Arizona and Wisconsin, great game there. Maryland,
00:47Marquette, great game in College Park. A Sunshine State showdown
00:52between Florida State and Florida. Both teams unbeaten to
00:54start this year. And perhaps a game, Joe, that eight years ago
00:58we would have said, what is this? One versus two? Rainy
01:01National Champ versus Rainy National Champ in Virginia and
01:04Villanova? Maybe not the case. The Cats somehow some way at two
01:09and two favored to beat the Cavaliers. Not so sure. I agree.
01:15That might be the ugliest game of the night, Ben. If you're
01:18having trouble sleeping, pop on Nova Virginia and you'll want to
01:22throw up and pass out. I find the Alabama one the most
01:26interesting against Purdue. Alabama is by far the better
01:30team, but Bama is getting overshadowed by Auburn, their
01:34arch rival over there right now. And the problem with Alabama
01:39this year is they're only shooting 30% from three right
01:42now, Ben, but they're attempting threes on nearly 50% of their
01:47offensive possession. So you want to know when they hit
01:51better than 35%, they're going to blow teams out. If they're
01:55hitting 30%, Ben, they're going to keep teams in games and
01:59that's not great. I think they're above that tonight
02:03against Purdue, who I think is still a little overrated and
02:06people think Zach Eaddy is still on the team.
02:09Purdue is really not look great this year. They're figuring
02:13things out, certainly trying to replace the biggest star in
02:17college basketball from a year ago. And one of the really cool
02:20things, all of these games, or at least a lot of these games
02:24are in home arenas, like we're going to Mackey, we're going to
02:28the Kohl Center, we're going to Reed Arena in College Station,
02:32we will play inside Hinkle Fieldhouse tonight, SMU and
02:35Butler, Georgia, Georgia Tech in Atlanta, Chrysler Center is
02:39Michigan host TCU. Here's a really good one. Princeton,
02:43Loyola, Chicago, both unbeaten entering this matchup. We've got
02:49a couple of games in neutral sites like Villanova and UVA in
02:53Baltimore, followed by Virginia Tech and Penn State, both the
02:56Hokies and the Nittany Lions unbeaten. But we've got some
02:59really good games in those classic arenas and pantheons of
03:04college basketball. Alabama in Mackey. That is awesome.
