00:08Police jails all preparations and enforces security measures.
00:15Further to preparations for the forthcoming UNDO state gubernatorial elections,
00:23the Nigerian police force has continued to jail up its preparations and strategies,
00:30reinforcing adequate security measures to ensure a smooth run of the electoral process.
00:38As part of these security measures, the force once again reiterates the ban on the use of unauthorized siren,
00:48covered number plates, aid and escort to VIPs during the elections.
00:56Local, unauthorized and quasi-security agencies are once again warned to stay clear
01:04as violators will experience severe consequences and face the full wrath of the law.
01:13Restrictions on movement on the day of the election from 6am till 6pm still remains valid,
01:24as members of the public are advised to make adequate preparations to this effect.
01:32Furthermore, the Deputy Inspector General of Police, DIG Elections,
01:38DIG Sylvester Abiodun Alabia VC, has ordered the immediate deployment of commissioners of police
01:46assigned for election duties to their designated local government areas.
01:53Adequate personnel have been deployed to haul polling units.
01:59In addition to grand personnel, aerial patrol with police helicopters and waterway patrol by gunboats
02:10are also being carried out to ensure tight security across the terrains.
02:16The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeoluwe Betokunpeke DMPM,
02:22has also ordered the establishment of the electoral offences desk
02:27to be coordinated by the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of CID in Ondo State
02:32and supported by other senior officers from the First Criminal Investigation Department, Abuja,
02:39to carry out investigations and possible prosecution of cases as stipulated in the Electoral Act 2023 as amended.
