University fees in England are rising, while Scottish students don’t pay. Do you think students should have to pay for university here, and is the cost becoming too high for the average family?

00:00I got a degree from Liverpool University and I was the last year they got the
00:06full grant before they were taking me away. I still had to work, all sorts of
00:12odd jobs to get me through. My son's at uni at the moment, his fees are going up
00:16and he's getting half of the tuition time from the lecturers and things and
00:22he's doing most of his stuff from home. Why is it going up? It should be like
00:26it should be like a hundred, it shouldn't be grants, like something they can
00:31afford to even afford to go. Look after them, make sure they can afford to go to
00:37uni if they've got the capacity. Doesn't suit some people, suits others, but it's
00:44too expensive. The Scottish way of doing it, they have a lot less
00:48people, have a smaller thing to deal with, however I think that would be the
00:56best model for people, for the country.
