Range Rovers Football Club chairman Eddy Mcentire talks about long-held plans to develop the ground
Transcript
00:00They want a £40,000 bond,
00:02which for a little community football club like Range Rovers
00:06is near impossible.
00:07They've told us we can pay over 10 years,
00:12but even £4,500 a year is a bit too much to ask
00:16because all money that comes into the club
00:20is for the use of the children who use the football club,
00:25footballs, referees, you know, football kits.
00:28That's all, all our money goes on that.
00:30We was going to have a nursery there as well,
00:35which has since we found out isn't going to happen now
00:38because planning permission for that has taken so long
00:43that the original people who wanted to build the nursery now
00:47have had to pull out.
00:48It won't stop our plans because we are all,
00:51you know, we want to move on with this,
00:53but it will make it a lot harder,
00:56perhaps putting up the children's subs
00:58a couple of pounds a week,
01:00telling them how it will benefit in the long run
01:02that they'll have toilets, changing rooms,
01:04perhaps even a tea bar
01:06where they can get hot drinks in the winter.
