Lee Carsley says there's no rift between club & country after several players withdrew from the England squad

00:00Another question on Harry's comments, he said I think it's a tough period of the
00:04season maybe that's been taken advantage of a little bit, do you think he's right?
00:09I think it's his opinion you know I can only I can only deal with what was in
00:13front of us you know I think I think like we've said in the past November is
00:17a challenging window in the past we've had you know eight nine call-ups call
00:21off sorry I think it's it's definitely that period of the season where you know
00:24fatigue and and small injuries have played a part in it but you know it's a
00:28brilliant opportunity for all the other players that were on the outside of the
00:31squad and now it's their now it's their chance. Do you feel there's a growing rift
00:34maybe between club and country? Definitely not, our culture in the environment that
00:38Gareth and Steve and the rest of the staff created has made it a really
00:41positive environment and and the players that are currently here fully deserve to
00:46be here and ready for the for the game tomorrow. Anthony, pretty straightforward
00:49question for you which is most important for you playing for your country or
00:52playing for Newcastle? Good question, I'd say whatever is my current team, do you know what I mean, what I'm
00:59playing for right now is what's most important to me because that's what's in
01:04front of me and that's the challenge ahead so I think it'd be hard to say one
01:07I think for England it's a different feeling because you're selected to be in
01:10a group where it's the best from from every team which is obviously a good
01:14feeling but yeah I'd say what's what's right ahead of me.
