00:00Uzbekistan highlighted the importance of global cooperation during the week of international partnership initiatives held in Tashkent.
00:10Hundreds of experts, representatives from international organizations and politicians gathered to discuss a diverse array of topics including eco-friendly tourism and sustainable economic growth.
00:22First of all, it's a platform for discussion and I think it's a wonderful opportunity for Uzbekistan to present to the international community new Uzbekistan and why Uzbekistan is opening to the world and wants to present its reform program.
00:47We are living in a globalizing world when the transnational factors are playing an increasingly important role.
00:55Any particular country, even the big powers, cannot resolve issues of modern world alone. We need to cooperate.
01:07Another question discussed the future of sustainable investments.
01:12This foreign investment in Uzbekistan has increased tenfold over the past years, a surge propelled by comprehensive government reforms initiated in 2017.
01:22The objective now is to garner even greater interest.
01:26Uzbekistan wants to become upper middle income country by 2030.
01:30In 2017, when we started our reforms, our gross domestic product was about like 52 billion U.S. dollars.
01:37During this short time of period, we doubled the gross domestic product.
01:40In order to increase this gross domestic product, furthermore, investments in more productive areas are very important.
01:47And these international initiatives are very important to communicate with the investors and what we have done in Uzbekistan.
01:56Tourism is one of the promising sectors of Uzbekistan's economy and participants of the partnership initiatives week in Tashkent discussed its green and sustainable future.
02:07Uzbekistan has been the leading country that pushed for 2027 to be the international year of sustainable and resilient tourism.
02:15Sustainability encompasses three key factors, the socio-economic, the environmental and the economic.
02:22Uzbekistan has been really proving and taking the lead on that front.
02:27To build the future, you need to know your past.
02:34This was one of the messages from another large-scale event here in Tashkent that highlighted the cultural heritage of Uzbekistan.
02:44International Heritage Week in Tashkent brought together participants from various countries.
02:49One of the events, the inauguration of an exhibition of rare ancient coins, took place in the State Museum of the Timurid History.
02:56This year's commitment to Uzbekistan's history of Uzbekistan's history.
03:25The Center of Islamic Civilization is currently under construction in Tashkent.
03:30Over a hundred projects proposed by scholars from more than 25 countries will be incorporated into this cultural and scientific hub.
03:40The idea of creating this wonderful center is the president of our side of Shavkat Mirovanovich Mirdiaev.
03:46The idea of the 72th session of the General Assembly of the UN.
03:50It was then that he invited the world to fight against the people of the UN.
03:55By the way, our center is a massive, cultural and scientific platform.
04:00The task of its mission is to bring to a wider international community, a truly human, tolerant, and world-like way of Islam.
04:10And the research, preservation and popularization of the cultural heritage of Uzbekistan.
04:15The 1001 foundation organization aims to bring to life stories of the great scientists and rulers of this land.
04:26We're going to be doing short films on al-Biruni and Ulubag and al-Khawarizmi.
04:30The key thing here is not just to talk about what they did, but to look at the impact of what they did.
04:36We cannot have the mathematics that powers our computer systems and AI and our rockets and our airplanes and our phones today,
04:44without the role of al-Khawarizmi and what he did with algebra and the zero.
04:50It's not just about telling the story of the past, but showing how it contributes to our lives today.
04:55We'll see you next time.
