00:00Misleading video following Amsterdam clashes
00:07A misleading video has gone viral on social media, supposedly showing a brawl in Amsterdam during the trouble that took place in the Dutch capital after a football match.
00:19The video, which has a watermark of the Telegram channel MASH, has been re-shared on other social media, including YouTube and X, using hashtags like Europe, Ajax and Zionists.
00:33The post claims to show a 28-second video of a brawl between Israeli football fans and pro-Palestine demonstrators.
00:42However, that is not the case.
00:45The video actually shows an incident that occurred in Russia outside of Locking Room's nightclub in November 2021.
00:54On closer inspection, we can identify with the help of reverse image search that the video takes place on Tverskaya Street in Moscow.
01:04Local media reported that the fight lasted between 15 and 20 minutes, with two people being killed during the clash.
01:14The video shows a brawl between Israeli football fans and pro-Palestine demonstrators.
01:22As misinformation circulated around last week's clashes, European leaders labeled the attacks on Israeli supporters as anti-Semitic.
01:32Local police also reported tensions first started when Maccabi supporters set a Palestinian flag on fire in Dam Square and ripped other flags off the walls of residential homes.
01:46This incident threatens to escalate the already simmering polarization between the two communities.
