00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. assured that the government is ready for the next typhoon to enter the country.

00:07The President also told the Budget Department that the Calamity Fund is sufficient.

00:18The typhoon Mika has not yet left.

00:21Two more typhoons are expected to enter the country.

00:25On the other hand, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. assured that the government is ready for the next typhoon to enter the country.

00:34Presidential Communications Secretary Cesar Chavez said that although the Calamity Fund is being reduced,

00:41which is usually felt in the last quarter of the year,

00:44President Marcos assured the Department of Budget and Management that the Calamity Fund is sufficient.

00:51The government will always collect funds and we have assurance from the DBM that we have sufficient funds for the next calamities until the end of December.

01:03The Calamity Fund is usually used to provide assistance to victims of the disaster,

01:09to repair damaged infrastructure, and other calamities.

01:15For 2024, the Calamity Fund will be raised to P22 billion.

01:22Meanwhile, the Department of Public Works and Highways and the Department of Transportation were attacked by their private contractors

01:33to quickly deploy their trucks and equipment.

01:37Before the typhoons came, it is important for the clearing operations on the roads to be carried out and for the government to provide assistance quickly.

01:48The attached agencies of the Transportation Department and DPWH are behind this.

01:54Their trucks, their machinery, and the private contractors who have contracts with the government,

02:01DOTR, DPWH, should be prepositioned.
